Usually, after writing an article declaring that you’re running for CP, all of the articles for a while after that are to do with your campaign or cabinet. However, a fair bit of interesting stuff has gone on since my last article and I felt somewhat inclined to talk about. It’s funny how after not really having a lot to write about (the last time I ‘reported’ on something was almost a month ago), only after you commit yourself to one subject should enough go on to force you to deviate. Such, I suppose is the turbulence of erepublik.

Poland borders Scotland!

Yesterday, Poland began moving into Denmark. To avoid opening a war with Denmark, possibly to do with the cost Sweden first took the Danish/Norwegian/wherever regions (they're Norwegian, apparently), and then Poland relieved Sweden of their pig disgusting excess.

At the minute, it is a bit unclear exactly what they are after. It may the high Oil region of Vestlandet; but if that’s the case why have they gone from Ostlandet to Sorlandet, a region which borders the UK. It is unlikely they are after our high grain. After all, certain people have tried and failed to take London in the past.

However, Scotland is the gateway to a bounty of high resource regions in the USA and Canada. Therefore, it is likely Poland is going after some of Canada’s high regions. In order to do so, they have to take Scotland. If they are only hoping to use the one region to hop onto the American continent, why then should we be concerned?

Poland is a large war machine. A war machine which needs high regions to fuel its rampages through the unspoilt European countryside. Simply put, Poland has the potential to become even stronger with high resource regions. And for everyone outside of Eden, it should be a priority to stop that from happening.

So, if Phoenix can stop Poland in Scotland, then we don’t need to worry about what high regions they will have when V2 starts.



Karnataka Drama

Karnataka is a region which I talk about a lot. Not because I am a rambling old fool muttering to himself about ‘the good old days’ but because it’s a pretty significant region. (I’m not the only old fool who rambles about it.) Karnataka is a high iron region that until very recently the USA has been renting off India. However, now India have said without warning that they want it back.

Karnataka was formerly owned by Indonesia, but the USA came and ‘liberated’ it several months ago. Since then, many people set up Iron markets in Karnataka, and the US economy saw a considerable boom. A vast amount of effort was put into moving everyone to Karnataka, (like when we moved everyone to London) in order to create a fortress region. With Serbia, our Phoenix ally moving in on the region, making sure it could be adequately defended was of high priority for the USA’s government.

However, now India has declared that they want it back, the USA cannot play the liberation card, and in his response, American President Harrison Richardson sai😛

“We have asked India to reconsider, because we feel that perhaps some of the vital issues involved in such a monumentous decision -- the increased PTO threat, the Serbian presence on your lands, etc -- were perhaps not addressed.”

Personally I would have avoided patronising the Indian government, but he does go on to say progress has been made, and more interestingly that they wouldn’t try to hold the region against India’s wishes. The US always makes sure to emphasise that hindering Serbia is very important. However what they don’t acknowledge is that they do not need to own Karnataka to stop anyone taking it that’s what MPP’s are for. I’m guessing that India knows this, and the US will have a tough time coming to terms with that.

To India, I say go for it. You’re tired of the US, maybe you want to some fun. You definitely want to bolster your economy so why not ask for your region back. If that’s ok with the current owners who seem to only want to stop Serbia getting it, then they can sign an MPP and help you out that way.



Trapped in Cabinets

If you didn’t catch my last article you may not know that this month I am running for Prime Minister. So far a great deal of the eUK’s parties have given their support both off and ingame, and I am thankful for all of your preliminary support.

As the elections on the 5th approach it is statutory protocol for candidates to decide and declare their cabinets prior to actual Election Day. So you may not be surprised that relatively early on we have to ask for applicants for cabinet positions.

As I have mentioned too many people on IRC, my cabinet isn’t going to be as large as Jamesw’s. If you would like to apply please PM me on the forums. The positions open are:

MoWar.

There will be more information on what some of these roles will be doing in my manifestoes; however I will give some details to people applying to these positions so they know what they’re getting into.
