BE:President Elections: COUNTDOWN: shadowucks

It is the 3rd February and in several days, our 11nd President of eBelgium (since the independence) will be elected. I will keep you all up to date with interviews, pictures and facts. And on the elections day with some temporary results.
But now, the candidates are in hurry to get as much as possible votes. Here is one candidate:

Q:Are there hugh changes coming if you are elected?

Shadow: Not really. Lets be honest. Erepublik is a game of sheepvoters. 70% of the voters aren't forum or media active. They vote and fight and do their 2-clicks for God-knows-what reason. Seeing as BfB had 53% votes last election, I consider my odds of winning relatively small. Nevertheless, I will give it a try. "Quitters never win and winners never quit" is one of my motto's and I do not intend to let statistics scare me.

Q:What will you do to get our people (back) active?

-more debate
-more active media section
-attracting ppl from other eNations to Belgium in order cause diversity (in both cultural backgrounds as well ideology and view on matters)

-more laughter

tl;dr: turning this game back to what it is: a game

Q: A Training War, would this be a good idea?

Shadow: Definitely. I think it's still a matter of looking at all options before we make a decision, but a TW with a Natural enemy is simply a MUST-have. Especially with the new achievements. For the moment, France or eNL seem like good ideas. This will have to happen under the proper conditions ofcourse (France sending over troops to eBE to compensate our much smaller army,...), but that is something that must be reviewed at the proper time and I can't make any statements or promises now of which I'm not sure that I can fulfil them later.


Q: We have good relation with several countries (like France and Germany), what will you do to keep them?

Shadow: We are still a neutral country. That means that we are friends with everyone. And seeing as they are our neighbours, good relations with them are of the utter most importance. More about my Foreign affairs stance can be read in the second part of my manifesto that will be released tomorrow.

Q: Do you want to join an alliance, or do you want to stay neutral at this moment?

Shadow: I want to join a major alliance, yes. If we get the opportunity to join a decent, strong alliance then I will try to convince congress to join it. (as in the end, the choice to join a alliance lies with congress, regardless what my opinion is). I will NOT however let us join an alliance for the sake of joining one. We have learned from the past that joining weak alliances (see: Entente and Sol) does not serve any purpose and even has a negative effect on us. If we ever decide to join a alliance it will be after both a public and congressional debate, and it will be after careful consideration of the pro's and contra's.


Q: Chocolate or French fries?

Shadow: Chocolate ofc. The dark one from Côte D'Or, plz.
My opinion about Shadow:
I think this is a qualified and a good CP candidate. He has good ideas and he has good contacts in several countries in the eWorld. He would be a great president. And he has made a good choice about the chocolate !
