Aum. A vote of confidence

Day 1,404, 18:36 Published in Belgium Belgium by Ward De Bever

Dear citizens of Belgium,

On congress election day, government is in a shambles. Home Affairs, Education and Justice are headless. The country presidency is still temporarily decapitated. Some executives say that important laws are invalid and thus not in effect anymore - without awaiting or even ordering a Supreme Court ruling. Among them, the law that regulates the Supreme Court itself... so they say that the Court cannot rule an interpretation on the matter since it doesn't exist and should never have existed...

This is the situation, an unproductive legislative circle in which eBelgium is engaged, while main Congress energy is being wasted on details of real-life forum moderation rules.

An attempt to fix this situation, posted by Goopypants and Ward De Bever, is being voted against by at least three (former) government members, among whom the acting country president. At the time of this writing, only 13 of the 17 expressed votes were Yes; 18 of 27 are required to pass. It's the Om party, not the BCP or RB, who sent out a pm defending this amendment. We really hope it passes and ends an artificial stalemate.

Another law that the people in power consider 'suspended by default' is the BTA Law. This means that the 8000 BEF intended to be spent on food for new citizens is still being blocked by the Minister of Finance. The payment had to be done four days ago, but he claims unconstitutionality to block the payment.

The Belgian Training Academy (BTA) is part of a long-standing Belgian state policy: Congress recently upgraded the monthly legal subsidy amount. The BTA helps new citizens through a military unit (MU) shout system and the systematic donation of information, food, and occasionally some money and weapons. The BTA is a successful mass newbie mentoring program, Belgium's only one.

Belgium needs strong, knowledgeable new citizens. BTA needs its state money.
Earlier this month we fought for the 4000 BEF of Elynea (which in the end she got back and donated a second time to the BTA), now we fight for deblocking the food to the current MU leader.

If we have one message: Start playing seriously. Vote Om party for responsible behaviour at the helm.
