New eNations

As eRepublic continues to develop, the Admins have announced that they will be filling in some of the ominous grey space on the eWorld Map with some additional eNations. eNations the Admin have chosen to add in an update this week are Cyprus, Belarus, Republic of China (Taiwan), New Zealand, Montenegro, and the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). Throughout the week Getty-Rable Basic Press will be featuring reactions from around the eWorld to the additions of these eNations. For other eNations covered in this series:
eRepublic of Macedonia (FYROM)
eNew Zealand
eCyprus

Showcase: eBelarus

When an eWorlder looks at a map of Eastern Europe, they see a large grey zone in the middle of some of the largest and most active countries in eRepublik. Well that grey zone is about to be filled in: enter eBelarus (whose name means: White Russia).

Upon entering the game Belarus will be bordered on three sides (North, East and South) by active Pheonix eNations, eRussia, eUkraine and eLithuania; and on one side (West) by EDEN giant ePoland. While it is too early to tell where eBelarus will make their friends, RL relationships between the eNation and its neighbours strongly favours eRussia, with RL talks underway for years about merging the two Nations into one supra-nation. Irrespective of their RL political affinity to Russian, eBelarus will have the opportunity to set themselves on a new path in the eWorld.

Many citizens worry that simply due to their geographic location, straddling the distance between ePoland and eRussia, eBelarus will likely need to choose a side quickly, or will likely be PTOed soon after their admittance into the game.

Regardless of the rumours circulation about their admittance, official statements from representatives of all of eBelarus’s neighbours are that they welcome their addition and look forward to cooperative ties to the eNation.

Kaliningrad and subsidiaries

Today, ePoland and EDEN forces secured the eRussian capital region of Kaliningrad. The battle, which saw major soldiers mobilisations from across the eWorld, resulted EDEN strike yet another blow to the weakening former Phoenix super-power of eRussia.

Phoenix member-nations expanded a large number of resources in an attempt to hold onto the region, exposing themselves to a variety of other attacks on home-soil. With ePoland and a few allies holding firm on the Kaliningrad battlefield, a variety of other eNations including eCroatia, eIreland and eRomania took the opportunity to attack bordering Phoenix member-nations regions:

eIreland was successful in securing their former capital region of Dublin from the eUK today.

eCroatia was able to capture a the eSlovenia regions of Slovenian Littoral and Inner Carniola

eRomania captured the eHungarian region of Southern Great Plain and pressed on further, attacking the region of Central Hungary.

eFinland secured their region of Vestlandet against an eUK attack along with capturing the eUK region of Scotland.

eWorld Population Shifts

Over the last number of weeks, the eWorld population has been shifting around quite a bit. While the number of citizens seems to have plateaued (from a previous decline) the population has dispersed amongst the eNations in a very different way.

Most notable of these changes are that ePoland has once again taken the top slot, surpassing eSerbia once more. eChina,(which this newspaper and other predicted would grow rapidly this year) has retained its population, while all others have lost number, moving eChina from 14th in population on Day 1,022 to 6th today.

With the adjustments to the top ten, the population has certainly shifted to the advantage of EDEN/Brolliance member nations. In fact, only two weeks ago the two global alliances had populations within 3,000 of each other, however now in just the population stats of the top ten EDEN/Brolliance has roughly 59,000 citizens and Phoenix roughly 39,000 a significant difference. When you expand the numbers to include the top 20 eNations, that gap increases even further.

These population trends certainly do not favor Phoenix and help to illustrate why EDEN/Brolliance member-nations have won the majority of battle in the last 30 days.
