Around the World in 60 Seconds : Day 1,048

Day 1,048, 10:58 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

Todays highlights:
- eCanadina Politics still in Mayhem: CEP changes its name to Project Mayhem
- Battles explode throughout the eWorld with launch of new military interface
- eBolivia PTO is killing their economy by imposing trade embargoes
- eItaly positions itself favourably for the EDEN alliance

Quote of the day:
“You have rewarded the bad manners of a vocal few against a quiet many.” - smee again (on the Admins back and forth of the name of the new eNation of “Macedonia”)

I will be writing feature articles showcasing reactions of leaders from around the world regarding the addition of Cyprus, Taiwan, New Zealand, Montenegro, and FYOM or ROM (Macedonia) throughout the week.

eCanada

With the Country President (CP) elections around the corner, many eCanadians have started to read up on the candidates. Today, eCanadians noticed that a new candidate has been added to the Candidate List. That being none other than former CP Rolo Tahamasee, who was impeached (though never convicted) last month due to his central role in Project Mayhem, which most believe was a group that committed electoral fraud.

Tahmasee is running under the banner of his former political party the Canadian Empire Party (CEP). The CEP published an article following the impeachment of Tahmasee announcing that they had expelled him from their party due to his involvement with Project Mayhem. While it is unclear to most whether this is the case, what is clear is that Tahmasee is running as the CEP's candidate for CP once again. After nominating Tahmasee as a candidate for CP, the CEP has changed their party name. Their new name as can be seen on their Political Party page is Project Mayhem. The CEP had, previously, nominated Cypher Rahl for CP. He responded to the situation today here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/to-whom-it-may-concern-1-1532781/1/20

In response to the situation, former CEP Part President Kilgore Trout89 said "Once again, I find myself disgusted by the lengths that people in out country are willing to go to obtain power and influence. It is very disappointing that this handful of miscreants is willing to manipulate other players. It is events like this that suck the fun out of the game for many players and so long as we continue to accept it as a reality of the Canadian political landscape, our community will remain apathetic and disgruntled."

No official statements have been made by the paty regarding their actions or involvement with Project Mayhem, however if and when their Party President Matthew Gallaugher responds to my PM to him seeking clarification on the matter; I will provide updates.

v1.5 Materializes Multiple Military Movements

Since the launch of version 1.5, (as most are calling the new military module used in eRepublic, as its operation is somewhat similar to both version 1 ad version 2) many military conflicts have sparked around the eWorld with eNations using the new military interface to their advantage as it is still new and most eNations are still developing best-practice strategies. Below is a listing of the battles that have been active in the last 36 hours:

eAustralia vs. eIndonesia: After weeks of eIndonesian occupancy in eAustralia, its citizens have begun a massive rebellion with five resistance wars underway:
South Australia: the eAustralian resistance force was able to secure the region from eIndonesia.
New South Wales: the eAustralian resistance force was able to secure their former capital from eIndonesia.
Victoria: the eAustralian resistance force was able to secure the region from eIndonesia.
Northern Territory: eIndonesia was able to hold onto their occupied high titanium region versus the eAustralian resistance force yesterday.
Western Australia: eIndonesia was able to hold onto their occupied high-titanium region versus the eAustralian resistance force's two attempts to liberate the region over the last two days.
Queenslan😛 eIndonesia was able to hold onto their occupied region versus the eAustralian resistance force yesterday.

eCroatia vs. eSlovenia: eCroatia launched an all-out offensive on its norther neighbour eSlovenia. The two eNations have a history of being at eachothers throats as eSlovenia became a close ally of eSerbia, eCroatia most despiced eastern neighbour. The attacks saw the following results:
Premurje: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.
Lower Carniola: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.
Styria and Cainthia: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.
Inner Carniola: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.
Styria: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.
Slovenian Littoral: eSlovenia was able to hold onto their region against an eCoatian attack.

eItaly vs. eAustria and eGermany: eItaly caputred the eAustrian region of Salzberg earlier the week. In a surprising attack, eGermany attacked the newly captured region yesterday, opening up a war between the two eNations. While eItaly was able to hold off the eGerman offensive today, the future relations between these two eNations and the allies is uncertain.

eHungary vs. eRepublic of Moldova and eRomania: In a third attempt in 2 months, Moldovian citizens launched a series of resistance wars against their eHungarian occupiers with the assistance of eRomania, below are the region-battles related to the conflict:
Northern Basarabia: eHungary held off the Moldovian resistance only to be re-attacked by eRomania today. (http://www.erepublik.com/en/military/battlefield/693)
Transnistria: The eHungarian occupiers were able to hold onto the region yesterday.
Burgenlan😛 The eHungarian occupiers were able to hold onto the region yesterday.

eFrance vs. eSpain: eFrance was able to capture its formerly held region of Midi-Pyrenees from eSpain yesterday. The region was captured by eSpain last week from eUK, who had region swapped into the region to attack eSpain.

eRussia vs. eUSA: a resistence war has been started in the eUSA occupied resource-rich region of Far Eastern Russia yesterday. (http://www.erepublik.com/en/wars/show/2823)

eUSA vs. ePortugal:: After a failed atack on eUSA soil by ePortugal last month, the eUSA has lashed back on the small Western-European eNation, attacking and securing the ePortugal regions of Canary Islands and Alentejo.

I have pasted the link to the active battles in the list above.
(If you know of any other battles, feel free to post them in the comments section below.)

eBolivia

Since the last congress elections and presidential elections, where the eArgentinian led PTO of eBolivia secured 50% of the eBolivian Congress and the Country Presidency, the country has been in a rapid decline. The eNation which was just starting to get back on its feet after months of struggling to reclaim their regions from their aggressive neighbors has fallen once again into economic peril.

Over the last two weeks the eAgentinian led PTO has successfully passed trade embargo's against the eNations oldest allies and strongest trading patners including eRomania, eUSA, eSpain, eChina, ePoland, and eCroatia.

According to sources in eBolivia the PTO plan is similar to the plan that is currently being applied by the eHungarian PTO of eSouth Africa: economically cut ties to EDEN eNations, then start building ties with Phoenix members to bind economic success to Phoenix member-nations.

eItaly

Since the official wind up of the Entente Alliance on August 20, eItaly has been not joined any of the other global alliances in operation. However those who have been watching eItaly's movements over the last month would not have drawn that conclusion. The eNation has been signing alliances with ePoland (which just expired), eCoatia and eChina, all of which are EDEN member-nations.

Over the last month eItaly has engaged in two battles with their northern neighbor eAustria; a “neutral” eNation that has formed close ties with Phoenix members (eGermany and eHungary). In its most recent attack on eAustria, eItaly secured the region of Salzburg. In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Phoenix member nation, eGermany, attacked the newly secured region declaring war on eItaly. The hostile move will certainly weigh heavily in eItaly's mind when deciding who their friends are.

eItaly would be an asset to either of the two largest global alliances as they are positioned in eEurope and border both Phoenix and EDEN member-nations, not to mention that that are the 20th largest eNaiton in the world.

If you know of any global event that merits highlighting, please PM me and I will do my best to include them. Should there been errors in my coverage, please PM me or comment below and I will double check facts and make any corrections needed.

Oh and as always... trolololo away.
