Day 1,779, 00:31 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

So, how has the week passed in the New World? Who has made progress? Who has been dealt the scent of defeat? Find out in this week's edition of Around the World!

MAJOR WARS

The Serbian Invasion
Before

After

Belligerents: China vs. Serbia
Results: Serbia won the first half of the week, battling to get a peace deal with Iran and passing through Pakistan to take on the beast of the east, China. It was an incredible feat to fight through Turkey and Iran merely to even hope to reach China. But when the war between the two titans began, the Asian powerhouse defended their claims in Pakistan in a very tight battle. As a result of the epic battle going China's way, Serbia is now on the defensive, hoping just to hold on and defend against a counterattack. This grand war will be tightly contested, and the victor's glory will be much-deserved.

The Alphabet Wars
Before

After

The Finnish-Estonian War of Monotony
Belligerents: Finland vs. Estonia, Latvia
Results: Finland crushed Estonia and sat on the light teal nation and suppressed it well. But Latvia had different plans. All while having a training war with Russia, Latvia rushed in to help their fallen comrade, supporting them by attacking the Finns and helping their RWs find success. Estonia was liberated and started attacking northward, taking over the southern region of Finland. But Finland kept its competence in that regard, kicking out the Estonians quickly from their side of the gulf and pushing back south. But Estonia has been fully liberated, and won't go down without a fight.

Winner (this week): Estonia, Latvia (devastating)
Winner (campaign): DRAW

The Swedish Liberation of Belarus
Belligerents: Sweden, Belarus, Ukraine vs. Lithuania, Hungary
Results: Not a great result by any means, but Sweden will take it, and Belarus came back from disaster to pull out a decent result. Sweden couldn't quite defeat Lithuania, but managed to take control of a large chunk of the southern Baltic nation. Belarus was wiped merely days ago, but has since won some resistance wars and has reclaimed three of its six provinces, and has begun pushing into Lithuania from the south. Elsewhere, Ukraine continues to harass Hungary. For a rag-tag bunch fighting against mighty Hungary, things could be a whole lot worse.

Winner (this week): Sweden, Belarus, Ukraine
Winner (campaign): Sweden, Belarus, Ukraine

The Cromanian Day at the Beach
Before

After

Belligerents: Croatia, Romania vs. Indonesia, Thailand
Results: Indonesia caught a huge break, and is lucky to still be on the map. After being fully wiped as Romania defeated their last province in Guinea, the Indos sneaked in and RW'd the two provinces controlled by Croatia cut off from Croatian HQ. Romania is stabilizing itself so any attack on them is unlikely at this point. Croatia, however, has moved on from their disappointing losses to attack master harasser (eh? it rhymes!) Thailand, and the early battles have shown just how mighty the Croatian army is, as the Thai forces had no choice but to retreat further inland. Perhaps a consolation prize for the Croats?

Winner (this week): Croatia, Romania
Winner (campaign): Croatia, Romania (devastating)

The Colombian Surprise
Before

After

Belligerents: Colombia vs. Spain, Venezuela, Mexico
Results: Colombia may have gotten Spain out of their direct path, but they still stand alone against both Venezuela and Mexico, the latter of which finally got their independence agreement from America and was itching for action. While Colombia's held off Venezuela for the most part, Mexico's been quite a pain to the defending forces, slicing and dicing lands with skill and precision. Unfortunately for the Colombians, they've been split west and east by Mexican forces. Colombia might not be able to hold on for much longer against two foes all alone.

Winner (this week): Spain, Venezuela, Mexico
Winner (campaign): Spain, Venezuela, Mexico

The Macedonian Naval Test
Start

After

Belligerents: USA vs. Macedonia
Results: America sure had a rousing speech about how they were about to destroy the Macedonians and chase them to the ends of hell, but those promises fell just a little flat. America did indeed chase off the Macedonians from North America, but just as the American forces landed on the shores of Aquitaine, FYROM had a trick up its sleeve, releasing Midi-Pyrenees back to French control, much to the disdain of American troops. America is now forced to go through France, which will take a considerable amount of time that the Macedonians need, plenty of which will go towards clearing up RWs in Italy and Albania. The war is postponed...

Winner (this week): USA
Winner (campaign): USA (minor)

MINOR WARS

The Italian Reestablishment
Start

After

Belligerents: Italy vs. Slovenia
Results: The Italian Revolution continues! After a very successful series of battles to establish themselves back in northern Italy, the war stagnated. Battles grew further apart from one another, and less support came in for both sides as troops busily rushed over to China. The end result is less than glamorous; Italy captured another province in Veneto, but lost its easternmost land of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. However, Slovenia has regained the initiative, and can relink its core provinces with its Italian-based capital with one simple victory. If there's anything like a must-win, this'll be it.

The Bosnian-Montenegrin Border War
Start

After

Belligerents: Bosnia vs. Montenegro
Results: Bosnia blitzed Montenegro, and it wasn't even close, as Bosnia captured all three provinces with little sweat. Even though Montenegro looked to be a decent match for the Bosnians, it simply was a blowout. However, Montenegro showed some life at long last when they were wiped, successfully RWing back Central Montenegro despite Bosnian suppression. They were unable to do anything with it, though, and look close to being wiped once again. As Serbia is busy fending for their Asian lives, there isn't much that can help Montenegro out.

Six-Day Wars
