A Wild Ride!
The Shire
A wild ride indeed!
I had planned on writing an article on the first week of the V1.5 economy, including figures and prices comparitive to V1.
I have found this to be a fools errand as there is no comparison at all! Practically every time I log in to eRepublik, I get a different economy than when I left it.
I can't even tell if I'm making a profit in most of my business's and have had to shutter and reopen my land business's twice so far. By the way, sorry to all my workers for a bumpy first week, but I can only bleed gold so much.
As you can imagine, running 7 business's in this kind of market can leave anyone a bit shell shocked, just ask the MOI.
From the inevitable run up in Harvesters wages to the completely dead weapons market, you've got to wonder if the eRepublik team has a plan. Somehow, I don't think so.
I've just noticed they've changed the amount of raw required for manufactured goods. It was nice that they lowered the amount of grain required by my food company from 120 to 36, but not so nice that they move my choppers to 2250 from 250.
I had to give up on the math and write this article just to clear my head!
OK, so I could lower the price of my food, and have by 10%, but I know I'm still not making a profit with my helicopters, selling them at $399, and I'm not even going to try to open up my rifle company yet.
The worse thing is, I don't know what their going to do next. The last update was 3 days ago and they haven't given us a clue to what direction they will being going in next.
That is the biggest fail in V1.5 yet, communication.
I hope this doesn't sound like a spoiled child whining about losing their favorite toy, but I'm sure you can share my frustration about the obvious lack of planning.
So to end this article on a high note, I've figured out the obvious solution to all our woes,
GIVE US WAR!

My housing company cannot keep stone in stock LOL, the workers are going through thousands of units per day >.<
I understand your frustration, as I run 4 companies, and help manage 7 Crimson ones. It's a complete nightmare.
There goes Temujin (my employer) making up excuses while he rakes in the profits. Apparently my paycheck was sent to "the Plugson of eCanada" but I haven't yet seen a dime of it.
What a meltdown. It's time for "Back to Beta" (more to come on that).
I'd like to hear more about the switch from Beta to V1. Was it as crazy as this?
And yes Tem, Nightmare was the word I was looking for 🙂
^ Beta to V1 was a bit worse, there were problems with everything... But V2 is catching up.
Admin really need to release an article as to what is going on, and what they plan to do about it.
My thoughts exactly. Lets hope they get on it really quick.
Thanks emilio.
Yep, the was change in economy was like a rollercoster ride. In V1 I stocked over 1200 raws with a market value of about 10 gold. I was shocked when the new economy started. It didn´t even took a hlaf day when I got the message that employes couldn´t work due to the fact that I got no raws °o° I calculated a need of over 4000 raws per day.
You sure can imagine the loss I had.
Next thing I notice😛 raw consumption had increased 30 times. But the raw price only reduced by about 2 or 3 times.
That´s the reason why food prices jumped incredibly high.
After they fixwed the raw consumption I made about 15 gold profit on two days...
But as it looks now raw prices are rising again.
This is just sick.
I hope the economy will stabilize soon. Especially when the wars start and the weapon industries come up...
Dammit due to a bug in the world map I bought a new grain company in a medium grain region... The map said it was a high grain region...
another 40 gold wasted...
