A Tale of Noob.

*Gulp*

Well, I never thought I would be sitting here writing an Erep article, but I guess stranger things have happened. Also, I wouldn't be doing this without the support of a few people... and their gold (Thank you Oinyo and Venerable).

As a new player, it is difficult to find a topic to write about that the community has not already discussed at great length. Nor do I feel like I possess the knowledge to weigh in on the heavy political issues. Not that I don't have an opinion, but I would rather observe from afar and learn than jump in like a babbling idiot.

Having said that, I feel it is important for us new players to make a name for ourselves any way we can so we aren't lost in the sea of "two-clickers" or worse yet, become inactive. I can only speak for myself, but I have found the eCanada community to be nothing but helpful to a new player.

I realize this article reads much like a Seinfeld episode, and if you don't get that reference look here but like I said, it's difficult as an up and comer. So, instead of picking a topic that I know nothing about, I choose to share my quick journey through a month and a half of Erep.

Before I begin, I would like to point out that I don't want to name drop in case I miss someone and then get an angry message about how horrible I am.

After being recruited to this game for a second time *that story is for another time*, I began my journey in eCan with CoI. Albeit, I was not with CoI for more than a day, I would go back in a heartbeat if my current MU folds. After joining Rylde's MU, I found myself in a group of high achieving warriors. My only ambition was to be a Battle Hero machine which I found to be a lot of fun until I ran into the BH hunters. Quickly I realized I had to up my game, so I bought the Booster Pack and smacked the crap out of eUK. This drew the attention of an old Canadian foe whose name is prominently displayed in my profile for earning me a forfeit point for saying that he sucked.

This act of valor earned me the respect of a few eCan's whom I now love dearly. The next part of my eLife was to assimilate myself into the community. I chose the personal message approach as I felt it means more than a shout on the friends board. Note: If there are any new players reading this, I highly recommend doing this. For one, it saves embarrassment, and I never ran into anyone not willing to help.

After making a few contacts, eUK cried about getting their ass kicked and called eSpain decided to come knocking at our door. I must admit, I was on the bandwagon of fighting anything that moves, but I blame that on ignorance. After seeing region after region fall to our enemy, I realized we were destined to be wiped.

However, being occupied by the Spanish doesn't bother me that much. I have taken to greeting people with "Hola" and calling people "Amigo". It would be nice to own our land again, but in the mean time, I intend to make light of the situation. I figure we will get it back when we get it back. That's for the high-ups to figure out.

"So Buck, you've told us nothing!"

Good point. But at the same time I have told you everything. I figure this is the best way to break the ice on a larger scale until I become well versed in the game mechanics. I was originally going to do an article on the economy, but I don't think people need to be reminded that it sucks.

Cheers,

Buck.
