A sad day for eRepublic and fair play indeed.

Day 1,430, 18:29 Published in Croatia Bulgaria by Boyan

So the final results of the eKosovo poll are out and the eRep Gods have made their decision: eKosovo will be region of eSerbia.

First of all I would like to congratulate Serbians for their success. In this very moment the Kosovo Force (KFOR) and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULE😵 are removing the illegal barricades in real Kosovo and are making sure that the Kosovo government has control over all its territories and borders. Yet in this virtual community Serbians have managed to secure a region that is no longer theirs. I really hope that having a few extra pixels on the map is going to make their virtual lifes happier.

I’m not going to hide my huge disappointment with the eRepublik decision on the issue. When conducting a poll there are always certain rules and requirements that need to be followed. The final results of the eRep poll show a tie. The difference between the results is 0.42% or 443 votes. I don’t want to disregard those 443 votes, but 0.42% is definitely not a winning condition to any poll I am aware of. Moreover, the voting analysis shows extreme disparity of the nations voting. The Serbian vote accounts to about 8, 000 and that is not counting the Serbian colonies of New Zealand, Thailand, UAE, and Montenegro. That means that around 1/3 of the people who voted for Serbian Kosovo are Serbian. In addition, the Serbian vote is higher than the votes casted by FYROM, Romania, Poland, and Hungary altogether. This is definitely not a decision taken by the eRepublik community. In contrary it is a decision that has been enforced by Serbia’s higher population.

I know that Serbians are extremely sensitive about this topic. Yet Kosovo is a tragedy not only for the Serbian community but for all the families that have lost their love ones there and this certainly involves the Kosovars too. Twenty years after the collapse of Yugoslavia you seem that you have not learnt your lesson. You prefer to dwell yourself in the past rather than move on and build a better future for all of us on the Balkans. At the end of the day there’s no difference between Christians, Muslims,Serbians, Kosovars, Albanians, Bosnians, French, American, Chinese etc. There’s no history, no politics, no religion and no shit. It’s about the people and their desire to be free and happy regardless of their ethnic or religious background. I hope you understand that any further European integration depends on your recognition of Kosovo. Kosovo is an independent country and the sooner you come in terms with it the better your prospect of living a better life would be.

Erepublik failed to recognize and address the issue properly and thus does not represent accurately the world anymore. Furthermore, Erepublik administration failed to provide fair and equal opportunity to all of its users as Kosovo players would lack the opportunity to play with their own country.

At this point due to its disputed status in real life and the 50%/50% tie on the erep poll I beIieve that Kosovo should keep its status quo and remain a gray area on the erepubIik map.

PS. Please spare me your history lessons.
