A Brief WC Update

Day 928, 10:09 Published in USA USA by USA Welcoming Committee

Hi!

I just wanted to catch up with everyone and give an update on some of the things going on here at the USA Welcoming Committee.

Help Found!

In a recent article, I asked for potential volunteers to sign up to join the WC crew. Many answered the call, and it was a very difficult decision to make.

When it came down to it, Ligtreb and I decided that we would like to welcome Guldan Draak to the Welcoming Committee team!

Just look at that avy. Hes practically overflowing with wisdom to provide newbies!

Guldens a pretty cool guy, and we are very happy with this decision. When hes not here writing awesome PMs to new players and guiding them on their journey through eRepublik...hes writing awesome articles, which I hope to see some of in this paper 😁

We are very appreciative that he is willing to volunteer here and are very happy with what we have seen so far!

Ligtreb International Airport

Well...it's now open!

For a while now, we haven't had the time or inclination to run our WC companies, especially since the skill 0 govt takeover. However, we have decided we will begin running the Airport once again in anticipation of future events...In effect, we want to stockpile Moving Tickets to help avoid supply shocks during the eventual evacuation of Karnataka - and to have a stockpile available to help newer players leave the region.

If anyone is interested in provide free or reduced price labor, let us know or apply for one of the posted jobs. We appreciate any period of time volunteered (you are not obligated to stay longer than you want), and we are a military friendly company and can fire anyone fairly quickly if needs be.

Look how happy he is to volunteer some labor...good man!

Of note: The Welcoming Committee as well as many Interior Department programs are no longer sending new players to Karnataka. You need not evacuate if you live there, but if you are helping a new player it would be wise to have them move to california instead of Karna. More on this in my personal paper soon.

Spartan Program

The Spartan Program did not really do that well during our one shot at it. I might try it again just to see if our attempt was a dud, but we will see.

That said, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to liven things up around here or help out new players. If anyone has any suggestions for fun things to do or ways to invigorate the media, leave a comment!

Who We Are

For some reason, this questions come up a lot lately. Ligtreb kind of gets at the answer in this article, but I suppose I can expand.

The WC is a non government endeavor, funded by the donations of various players and congressmen, to basically make America better in whatever way we can. Sometimes that means handing out a couple thousand Q1 guns, and sometimes that means answering a PM asking a question about the merits of Organizations.

Due to the fact that we are non-government, we have pretty free reign over ourselves, and have really set ourselves up as a jack of all trades organization, picking up whoever falls through the cracks of our various government programs, and helping them out - be it their first day or their hundredth.

That's all for now,
Choc

EDIT: Oh yeah, vote this up please
