[UKGOV] MoFA: Spain

Today I (Boh) discuss our ally Spain and the recent events that have overtaken them.



Our alliance with Spain goes back to the early days of ONE, an alliance we used to be a part of which was founded by several nations including: Poland, Spain, Serbia, Hungary and Macedonia. Spain forms one half of two nations who are, or have been, so closely allied in the past they usually adopt the same stances on issues this includes SerbHun and, until recently, Cromania. The second half to this pair is Poland known to the world as “Spoland”.

Our entry into ONE brought us together as allies, something that continued into ONE’s successor, TWO. Since then we have fought together on several occasions, notably Spain assisting us in our January war against Canada, wiping the invader until very recently.

Spain fairly recently entered into a South American alliance known as ROLA comprising of Spain, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and Mexico. This alliance was formed to defend each other in South America from the trio of Columbia, Uruguay and Argentina. The frustration for many members of TWO over this was our increasingly friendly relations with this trio as the war against CoT swept across the world. This pitted Spanish public opinion against the realities of war and the growing pro-Argentinian public opinion across the TWO world. However, we managed to steer a narrow path between these conflicting interests.

Now Spain has suffered betrayal. ROLA is an alliance heavily dominated by CoT nations, including the key nation of Chile. Spain has launched an invasion of the USA in order to support our Polish brothers. In retaliation to this, Mexico and France have both declared war on Spain punching into the Spanish core regions. This may mark the end of Spanish involvement with ROLA, particularly as Columbia and Argentina, ironically, are at the forefront of nations coming to their rescue – as is Slovenia and Serbia.

As you can see, Spain suffers a full on invasion from these nations. As they push deeper into Spanish regions the fight will become more desperate. The UK is committed to defending our brothers in TWO against their invaders and we will be standing side by side with them through thick and thin.
