Getting involed in Government Politics:

So, after getting used to the basics of the game, you’ve decided to try and climb the ranks of the ministries? Great. Ministers and other government members are normally looking for active people who are looking to help out the chosen Ministry. Not only can you meet new people within eRepublik but you also build up your eCV. Below will be some basic information on each ministry. Take a look and choose one that interests you.

Ministry of Home Affairs keeps the eUK in the know. They also mentor new players, run various games and write helpful articles like this one.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs keeps communication with the various countries around the eWorld, be they allies or enemies. They're also the foreign messengers of the cabinet, requesting support in different battles and keeping Mutual Protection Pacts topped up.
Ministry of Work runs many raw material companies in order to keep the military companies supplied and the costs down.
Ministry of Defence controls the eUK Military and requests support from different countries, not unlike the MoFA. Also keeps the companies running.
Ministry of Technology keeps the countries websites working and in order.
Ministry of Finance holds the countries accounts and has access to the Bank of England. Runs different money making schemes on the Monetary Market, as well as giving out loans and general funding.

The process of becoming an apprentice in a ministry is quite simple. There are two ways of doing it:

(1) Personal Message (PM) a Minister or Under-Minister about joining their ministry. Be polite and professional and you’ll be accepted in no time.
(2) Post a topic in the ministry section about being available for work. Again, be polite and professional.

Once you are accepted by a senior member of the ministry, you will probably be given some simple tasks to do. They're not always the most fun jobs in the world, but they are all necessary. If you keep up at it and helping out the ministries, you are likely to progress up the ladder month after month. Your first stop will likely be Under Ministrer. In this position, you’ll be assisting the Minister and managing your own people, and giving them the not so fun jobs!

The Minister of a Ministry, also known as a Cabinet Minister, is appointed by the Prime Minister when he/she is elected. After the Minister is sworn into office, he or she is in charge of the ministry and makes the key decisions for the future of the ministry, following the Prime Ministers manifesto as a guideline. They're the big shots who get to choose who'll be their Under Ministers and who'll be the apprentices. Next of course is your journey to Prime Minister, though we'll not go into that 😉

Thanks for reading, and good luck on your way to the top!
