[UK CP] Turning the Tides
10 Downing Street
We are now at the halfway point of my term. There are many ways to describe how the first two weeks have been, as we have had to deal with an unprecedented amount of issues that all happened at once. Many of these issues remain, although I believe we have gotten through the worst of it. From an invasion from three different countries to PTO attempts, my cabinet and the people of the UK and Sirius have been kept very busy. So far, we have meet these adversities with grit and determination, and as a result, we have been successful.
An Update from the Office of the President.
Since the last update, we have declared an NE on Finland. Since the resistance wars were not proving successful, we decided an MPP attack will be more effective. Since then, we have regained Scotland and are in the process of attacking Vestlandet and liberating Northern Ireland (at the time of writing this, both battles are close). I am very pleased at the war effort during the first half of my term, especially considering that when I arrived in office, we were facing an existential threat. Of course, that threat still exists in other forms, which will be discussed below. The war with Finland shall continue, but we can only be victorious with the help of you and our allies. So keep up the good work and remember to fight smart.
Mapping out our plan of action.
There have been multiple warnings of a PTO. This was a threat that I was quick to be alerted on during my first day as President, and even before that during the campaign. With the PP elections over, some parties have been compromised, but it is nothing that we can’t handle. I have had to place my immigration reform to the side, or rather tweak it. It soon became clear that some PPs were pro-PTO, so instead we had to figure out how to deal with the next threat, which is Congress elections. I am pleased to say that we have come a long way since then, and hopefully everything is under control, but we must remain vigilant.
Stopping the PTO threat.
Congress reform is well underway, with the creation of committees finally being implemented. Having served in Congress for many months, and making this a priority, I am glad Congress has finally acted upon this. With committees, Congress will be able to better coordinate with the ministries, and therefore making communication between cabinet and Congress streamlined. This will also give Congress a reason to become more active and productive, instead of previous months where it seemed nothing ever got done. One of the committees, the Standards Committee, will provide an interpretation of my original vision for a citizenship committee. Let's hope that Congress will continue to be proactive, as it will strengthen our democracy.

true to my word i totally read it 🙂
As I've said before a committee is an animal with 6 or more legs and no brain.
The committees are being put in place to give the appearance of communication and openness but in fact will do nothing but support the opposite. With a little luck you will be able to bury anything you don't want to handle in committees for years
It works in many nations. When it wouldn't work in eUK than than the explanation is that UK citizens are very different in organizing.
The netherlands is different, or you agree or the sea floods you. so agreements are compulsory. bad example.
you are talking about governmental commitees, the wildlife of commitees is more varied.
I'm sure I've seen you criticise congress for doing nothing but rubber stamp Cp's. surely any move to make them more engaged, more focused and involved is a good thing?
To make congress more engaged you need to make sure PPs don't put numpties on their party's list. Committees will achieve nothing

I give the committees 3 months tops.
The PTO battle as just started...
It's going to be a long war and I'm gonna need popcorn

Themed, narrated pictures as if they were you...your not a Kravenn multi are you? 😛
"we were facing an existential threat" - this made me laugh , I know you used it right but i can't help think of a nation sat around wondering hopelessly about the inevitable meaninglessness of it all
