[UK-CP] An update before Cupid shoots you

Day 2,275, 15:09 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Dear citizens,

I have been busy over the last few days get settled in and ensuring that my ministers and I are hard at work with the topics that matter to the eUK. Here's an update as to how I've been progressing with the wonderful and stressful duty of being CP:

See, now we both win

Let me start with foreign affairs, as I said in my manifestos it is the most important area this month. This has been compounded on by the recent creation of the Serbian alliance, known as Asteria. I know that some of you might be hysteric about this but I assure you not to panic. Needless to say, my MoFA team, my advisors and I have been working hard to make sure that the eUK is ready to move into an alliance without rushing or moving into a “damagehood”.

In non-alliance related news, there have been a few articles by the MoFA recently. A generic introduction and an interview with the albanian MoFA. The mentoring programme is progressing slowly but surely, there have been a few interview requests to important people in lesser known allies countries. If there is still someone who is not involved and still wants to be, then they can message mittekemuis.

Obligatory red head for Hugh

Onto my second topic, the war and defence of the realm. I would like to thank BrickTamland and Marvin for their job so far. Since the first one was posted, a MoD article has always been up in the eUK news, you can find the most recent one here. Remember that you can also find orders on the #MoD channel on IRC (for those of you who don’t know how to or what IRC is, here is a quick guide.

For those of you who are war hungry, I will leave a special paragraph for you. There have been a lot of important battles for our allies as of late: for Lithuania against Sweden, Spain against Portugal and, within the last few days, Poland vs Romania. I know that a fair few of you want to be progressing on TP medals and I can understand that, but I want to make clear that helping our allies is also very important. I will be looking to make sure that we can have war but not rush into something that is going to endanger what we already have, we will have a few RWs before the end of the cupid missions to ensure that people can get their kills for the UK.

Sooner or later I am going to run out of these images…

Finally, onto Domestic Affairs. The Ministry of Home Affairs has started its work, although the password to the org was lost and miraculously returned thanks to Emergy. Obviously there was is a generic introduction article as well as the first BBC article. You are free to ask questions for the first PMQs via this link http://tiny.cc/PMQs .
The Ministry of Education has also published it’s generic introduction and will have an article out tomorrow.

I am sure that some of you have been reading about the congress commitee ideas by both LordFarhan and iAdrastros. I know that people have been vocal about moving back to the forums as a private discussion area instead of PMs. We should not rush into this, this is going to be a slow and long journey if we want congress to play a larger role in the way that the eUK works. I am glad, however, that people are proposing changes to the existing system and not just complaining without suggesting any real change.

tl;dr
Everything is progressing as normal.
Keep calm and carry on.

With Love,

PS - I got 50 friend requests so far, I got friend-zoned 5 times? 😃
