Join the new world

That’s right. I’m running for TUP Party President on 15th April.



I’ve been a member of The Unity Party since the moment I was able to join, many months ago. Since then I have been a very committed member of the party and have contributed heavily to policies and campaigns. I have some fantastic support from many of the forum/irc active members of TUP who are aware of how hard I will work for the party. I will now outline my ideas for the party should I be electe😛

Continue the Great Work of Previous PPs

This sounds simple but believe me, following the likes of Jamesw, Iain Keers, Karacticus and Mr Woldy (to name just a few) is not something to be taken lightly. I assure you, however, that I am more than up to the task.

Hard work and high levels of activity are important to run this party correctly. I am dedicated to the party and extremely active. Even so, I made the decision to step down as Minister of Home Affairs this month. This is so that I can focus even more on the party. I believe that the job of running such a great party deserves my full attention.

Under my leadership, TUP will continue to act as a democracy, where our members are polled on important decisions and encouraged to contribute to policies. Please join us in TUP forum to get more involved.




Media Presence

Increasing our media presence would benefit the party. Should I be elected, I will be writing various articles during the term to promote the party, to make announcements, to get people involved and to react to any issues of the day.

I shall also be encouraging the Council of Unity to write more articles for our newspaper. It’s good to encourage other members to be actively involved with the party. The PPs of the past and future can really help to contribute here.




Social Plans & V2

TUP is a socialist party. We are a party for the people. I feel now is the ideal time to start looking at further ways in which we can help the general population and particularly newer/low income players.

I’d like to start planning for a scheme where citizens can apply for good quality, cost price/subsidised food which is made in a TUP company. Of course this will need further planning and financing but it’s something that I’d like to make progress with, even if it’s primarily at the fundraising stage for the beginning of this term. If I am elected, there will be more details on this as it progresses.

With the new hospital rules, this is something that could benefit people now. It will also continue to be useful into V2, where we expect demand for highly customized products to increase.



Membership Numbers & Activity

The population of eUK has been falling over recent weeks. TUP, however, continues to hold a significant lead over other parties in terms of membership numbers. Should I be elected I will try to increase our party membership further through recruitment, media and the actions of the party.



Vice Presidency

The position of Vice Party President is an important role. They will work closely with myself and be able to help out in all areas from writing articles to organising campaigns, acting as party whip, organising debates and so on.

This role is ideal for one of our promising members, so that they can get the valuable experience of being more involved in the day to day running of the party.

Should I be elected, Asher Di Immortales will be my Vice President. He’s very active in the game, on the forums and on the irc. He’s someone I know I can rely on to get things done. If Asher says he’ll do something, he does it and does it well. Asher joined the party around the same time as myself and has been a major contributor. He’s been a part of the MoHA for many months now as an underMinister and it’s time he had the opportunity to step up and show what he can do for TUP.

Of course there are lots of other people in TUP who I know I can also rely on. We have a strong, friendly team who all work together well and make outstanding contributions to our party.



Congress Elections

TUP have been the dominant force in congress elections over the past couple of terms. This is obviously something that we wish to continue and something that we will be working hard towards maintaining. I’m not going to discuss strategy in the media but rest assured, we will not be taking any elections lightly under my leadership.

We will also be continuing our policy of giving good candidates opportunities. This doesn’t mean that you have to have months and months of experience in the game. On the contrary, I like to encourage relatively new players to get involved and to run for congress. We all started somewhere and sometimes the best way to learn is by getting stuck in and giving something a go. You will be expected to be a member of our forums and to be contributing there if you wish to be considered as an official candidate. If you come on our irc channel regularly and get involved day to day, even better! So come on, get involved. If you want to be considered for this month, start contributing now.



Prime Ministerial Elections

TUP always run a poll in the forums to decide who we will be backing to be Prime Minister. This will not change. We will look to our members to see who has the skills and the ambition to run for Prime Minister, as usual. I would also like to include candidates from other parties in our poll if they are willing to divulge their preferred candidates to us.

In the run up to the CP elections, the party also holds a party conference to encourage ideas, policiy making and participation in the party. This will be continued should I be elected.



Opportunity

TUP has some very experienced members and yet there are ALWAYS opportunities for people to get involved. I’ll happily sacrifice one of our senior members to give a newer player the chance to run for congress if they can show me that they are willing and able.

Every party claims to be friendly and to offer opportunities and encouragement. The truth of the matter is that every party could do with more active and hard working members. TUP is no different. Don’t listen to the people who say that opportunities are only available in smaller parties. It’s simply not the case. You’re actually more likely to get these opportunities as a part of a successful party like TUP.



Supporting our Government

Whoever runs the country, it’s my belief that political parties have a part to play, not only in the education of our people but also by contributing to the betterment of the nation in other ways.

I propose that TUP uses a proportion of it’s advertising funds to support the government. This could be by advertising the MoHA paper, adverts for joining the military or whatever we decide between us is worthwhile.
