[President SORA] These are not normal times yet

Day 2,064, 04:23 Published in Philippines Republic of China (Taiwan) by Analia Arnheim
Al Raposas second State of the Republic Address

Last week, I welcomed you in a new age. Today, as any ushering of a new age experienced, our first week are not yet normal times.

A day after my first SORA, I have already announced the composition of my Cabinet. To see whether the people think the government is doing a good job, I have done a two-day survey in my previous article. Below is the survey summary:

The sample size is 10, which is around 3% of the total population by the end of the survey (305, July 14). I thank the people for showing much confidence in me even if a week had passed since the elections. I have received 100% satisfaction rate in my weekly performance. I feel sad, however, upon what the survey says of my Cabinet.

Only 10% were satisfied of the work done by my Cabinet in the past week. Sixty percent are indifferent. I assure you, my countrymen, that these Cabinet members are doing their job well.

eUP, under the administration of our Minister of Education, reopens for a new term. When I was Minister of Education, I endorse this project to former President Eldarion Sionnodel, of which resulted to a donation of 550 PHP and 1,000 Q5 food. However, since these are not yet normal times, the government had not contributed anything yet to this project. Since eUP is from the start a mix of public and private funding, the university is expected to finish the new term.

Our Vice Minister of Culture and Arts showed us how to cook adobo and mamon, two of the most popular foods in the Philippines. Adobo can even be regarded as one of the national foods of the country.

The supply program, after some discussion with the Ministry of Defense, had begun since the start of the National Mission. This program is now to be perpetrated in the rest of my term, despite austerity measures being done due to lack of government funds.

Also, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, of which I was having a hard time refounding when I was Minister of Defense, was reestablished with five military units joining the fold of government command. This has exceeded hopes of incorporating only two units.

We now have sent one representative (which is I) and two delegates (MoD Boy Pick Up and MoFA kb1992) to NaN (Non-Aligned Nations of Erepublik). Now, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is in the process of recruiting ambassadors to NaN countries. Of course, the ambassadors will be with pay once they do their job well.

As of the moment, Day 2064, the treasury now stand at around 16,200 PHP. A full 1,000 PHP rise from Day 2058 (around 6% increase). This was done with zero regions at all. What prevented us from a government shutdown is a zero interest loan given by the governments of Pakistan and Malaysia.

Though it can be seen that recently, a conflict was made between Pakistan and Malaysia in NaN, the Philippines still hold the two countries as friends.

Also, the Minister of Finance had proposed creating a cooperative that will make the Philippine market competitive with her neighbors. Members that will apply to the cooperative will receive state subsidy so that they would not have to profit in a stagnant market like ours. Anyone who wants to join this cooperative, please contact the current Finance Minister.

Since my first day, I have encouraged the country to participate in the eOlympics now being held at Belgium. Though we are unfortunate not to get a medal so far, I believe that participation alone makes our athletes winners. That is why by the end of the games, I will give 5 Q3 tanks to those that have not played in all events, and 15 Q3 tanks for those that have played in all. The fourth event had just began, so go forth and participate for the Philippines.

Also, after doing some restructuring myself in Philippine articles in eRepublik Wiki, you can now access them to see the changes made:

I can't say that there is baby boom. In the beginning of my term, our population stood at 273 (rank 63), and we targeted a population of 300 by the time my term ends. This is a moderate gain estimate. Today, surprisingly, our target was exceeded. As of this moment, our population stands at 307. Though still rank 63, we have raised our target population to 330 by end term. At this rate, we will be rank 62, overtaking Estonia. Some maybe too optimistic that we will be rank 61, overtaking New Zealand as well.

Yours truly,
Al Raposas
President of the Republic of the Philippines
Duke of Luzon
Second Commander of Philippine Military Academy
