[President's Desk] Come, Let us Rise!

Dear all,

It has been a week since I took up office. There has been a lot of activity since then and I must apologize for not putting out a regular update on the events / happenings over the past week. However, I promise to update you on the progress every alternate day going forward.




War with Croatia
We have been at war with Croatia since the past 13 days when they offered to wipe us with/without Congress. We are currently down to 3 regions compared to our original 16 regions. As a reaction to being declared a Natural Enemy by Croatia the previous administration signed MPPs with nations that were sympathetic to our cause irrespective of what our alliance position was (we had officially declared neutrality). Over the course of the war we have received substantial assistance from these very nations which have helped us to survive and I am very grateful to them for fighting on our side and coming to our aid at the right time.
As you see Croatia relentlessly continues to run over our regions even though we offer little or no resistance. They continue to attack us and take what is not rightfully theirs. However, we will continue to try and liberate our regions to the best of our abilities, with whatever limited resources we have at our disposal and the strong support of our friends.
I want to wholeheartedly thank nations such as Moldova, Belarus, Australia, Ireland, Chile, Spain, Poland, Indonesia, Peru, Macedonia and a host of other countries which have helped us. Most importantly, a thank you is not sufficient for what our Bulgarian brothers have done for us. They have truly shown us the real meaning of friendship and brotherhood.





Alliance
Regarding our alliance standing, it has become quite clear that EDEN is flagging even further with the exit of Argentina. This hasn’t drawn as many tongues and reprisals as has our exit - understandable since people think small nations can be bullied. Hence I think it is in our best interest that we assert our position and do what is right for the nation. It is also important for us as citizens of this nation to stand by each other in these turbulent times and give each other support to ensure collective decision making.
In my first article I had outlined that I intend to follow a Pro CoT approach to matters related to our Foreign Policy. It has now become increasingly clear that it is the right path for us to take and where we need to focus. I have had lots of interactions over the past week with a many nations such as Australia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Chile, Moldova, Peru, Mexico, Indonesia etc and I have been pretty impressed with the support they have shown in our current situation. We will continue to build stronger ties to the countries that have extended their hands of friendship towards us.
I will be soon starting a debate within the congress regarding our foreign policy and will be presenting them with the various options that need to be considered and will request their opinions on the same.





Baby Boom Efforts
I am happy to report that our focus on getting a BB has increased significantly. Ash has formed a large team of members to provide a push towards that aim. There are regular meetings being held around 9 pm IST (7:30 erep time) on #eIndia chat room. I invite everyone to be a part of the discussions. We will be targeting a wide range of media for this purpose and any assistance in this aspect is welcome. There are separate teams being formed for spearheading a range of activities such as getting the players, training and mentoring them, building guides for their understanding and finally retention. Ash will has been regularly updating on the progress on this effort and will continue to do so.





Cabinet Update
As an update to the cabinet, I would like to inform that Rebelash will be taking up the MoF role going forward. He has the experience and knowledge required for the role and has been a MoF previously on numerous occasions. Vigorious will continue as an advisor in the Ministry of Finance. I would also request people who are interested in serving in finance to step forward and contact me or Rebelash. Between Vigorious and Rebelash there is a vast knowledge base that can be shared with people with similar inclination which will eventually benefit our country.
Citing the importance of Foreign Affairs this term, I have been personally involved in this area since the beginning of the term. However, according to me FA is an area which requires significant on ground people to be managed successfully. For this purpose I am setting up a large team to manage the FA department and will include alector, windfall, Asmita and HemanathanKumar.



A Message to the People
We are on the verge of being WIPED OUT. I request your support to be strong, and stay strong on the road to a new chapter in our history. No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk this path. The path ahead is full of hazards, as all such paths are. The cost of freedom is always high, but one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender or submission to TYRANNY.
We need to bring about a baby boom and we need to fight back on our own. Various nations show vested interests in us and try to play us, the only way will be to stay strong and BELIEVE and HELP in strengthening ourselves. We need to be truly independent, not remain small; carrying a begging bowl to whichever nation will have mercy on us. This is our acid test and together we can get through it!
We could have beaten Croats back and we have many self sufficient people who are well placed in RL. However, tanks are not the answer. We need people, they are our true assets, and they are the ones who will be always around when everything else is gone. Throughout our RL history we have prided on the strength of our masses. It is now time to again mobilize ourselves and make this a movement of the people.
