[NGP] The Year of the Greens

Day 2,596, 14:09 Published in Norway Denmark by Joshua Morriseau

As we bring our year to a close I just wanted to congratulate the Greens membership on a an incredible year of hard work, dedication, fun and in making Norway a more pro-active nation altogether. We recently celebrated our 1st Birthday and now I want to recap our first year.

A little over a year ago a seed had been planted that begun to grow. A small upstart political party that was upset with the current state of Norwegian politics and wanted to see things done differently.

-During our first night we went from 3 members to 13 members on our first night.

-Worked on releasing our Charter of Values and Principles

-Elected our first Congress Member in January, Sinon or BloodTrail as he was known then.

-In February the NGP elected their first CP when Jasper Zuidema was elected for his first term.

-The NGP was approached by Divonex and we worked out a merger between the NGP and Bondepartiet taking us from a middle power to a contender for the top 2.

-The NGP put forward a National Survey to see what the Norwegian peoples thoughts were, empowering them to show the Government what they truly wanted.

-The NGP began a proposal to lower the Weapons Import Tax to help lower weapons prices for Norway.

-Other parties for the first time in a long time began to release articles to keep up with the NGP bringing more political activity to Norway.

-The National Media Strategy was introduced by the Greens to increase media activity, stimulate activity and make Norway more attractive to immigration.

-The NGP changed logos for the first time.

-We released the most controversial Congress campaign in Norway's history.

-The Green Spotlight series was born with Kesha Winehouse as the first guest.

-The Green logo changed once again and was designed by Kesha.

-We introduced the Congress Tax, a new source of revenue for the Government.

-Introduced the Norwegian Achievement Awards program but was ultimately shot down when the Government failed to name a new MoPR.

-Became the only party to put any proposals to Congress for two months straight!

-We raised 5465.55 NOK through our Congress Tax in one month with most members donating their full reward, that is over half the cost of an MPP!

-Celebrated our 1st Birthday.

Our different logo's over the past year.

I believe that the NGP has in a positive way changed the way politics is done here in Norway. Because of our activity we made other parties have to become more active. We were the only party to take more votes in an election other than Tek since Bondepartiet did. We have I believe made Norway a lot more active than she was before the Greens. Our social programs and media activity has helped us to contribute to this.

Altogether we have released 23 articles (including this one) which is nearly 2 articles every month since we were created. We are not just a party releasing articles before Congress elections but have stayed on the ball the entire year. Our accomplishments speak for themselves and I want to thank everyone who has been apart of the Green Movement of 2014. Whether it was electing Presidents or strong showing in Congress elections I think the best thing we have done was bring more activity to our little nation. Without bringing in younger people into the fold everything we have worked for will collapse.

2014 was the year of the Greens, lets make 2015 the year of Norway!

As always don't forget to V,S&S!

Kind Regards,
