Day 1,356, 03:19 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irasian

Okay I believe this my first article that has been written to help new citizens in this game so if I forget something let me know.

First of all you might be wondering what all the options do and the easiest way for me to explain it would be either to direct you to the erepublik wiki site ( http://tinyurl.com/new-players-guide) Irish forums ( http://www.eireland.me/forum/index.php) and the IRC ( http://www.rizon.net)

On the wiki site there should be numerous guides written by players to help players. There should also be some guides written by players on the forum and if there are any questions they can be posted and the “friendly” (debatable) forum users would be more than willing to answer them.

In my opinion the IRC is probably the best tool to use as you can get live support from your fellow eIrishmen. Join the channel #ireland with the nickname you use in-game and say hi.

A note on parties, the following description of each of them will probably be biased as I tend to write things from my point of view.

The top 5 parties

Independent Labour Party (ILP) : This party is probably the left wing party of Ireland and contains many citizens. Many of them are fairly new but they have an eIrish heart and are full of passion to see Ireland improved. Labour’s army is a part of this party. Some notable members are Patrick O’Leary who is known to be an eager and young eIrishman who has fought for eIreland with his heart and soul by opposing eIreland’s enemies strategically as one of Ireland’s Ministers of Defence (MoD) and Roger Griswald who was eCanadian but moved to eIreland to help her with her battles.

Sons of Eireann (SoE) : This party contains a mixture of ages. This party has a fair number of Irish army and Irish citizen army members. They are dedicated to helping eIreland to the last and contain some notable members like DerBrad who was probably one of the best if not the best Minister of Community (MoC) that Ireland ever had and Brian Boru who is one of eIreland’s oldest citizens.

Irish Independent Party (IIP): This party is for those who wish to run for congress independently and those who don’t think they fit into the other parties. Some notable members are Chance Harrison who was one time president of eIreland and has done a lot to help her cause. One of his main faults was he was too quiet and didn’t alert the population to what he had done and so it looked like he was doing nothing. John Gormley is a friendly chap who is a good lad to talk to. He can be very helpful and is easy to approach.

Eire Aonair: In my opinion this is one of the more useful parties as they each tend to have projects that they work on. They contain many groups like the Black Buck initiative. Sean power I believe wrote the guides that are on the forum. D-glennon is a many time MoD. Viktor Kurgan enough said. Ian E Coleman is a legend with the erepublik wiki and has been working on it for as long as I can remember. Etc.

Irish Union Party (IUP) : This party is one of the oldest parties in Ireland. They have been around since I was a new citizen about 2 years ago and was the first party I joined. The main goal of this party is to see a unified Ireland. Notable players that this party contains are Bhane who is an economic mastermind and has kept the Irish economy alive for months on end even spending his own gold to keep his employees employed. Truly an Irish legend. Thanasis Klaras is a part of the Libertad army and has been one of Ireland’s defenders for a while now.
The Armies of Ireland

Irish Army (IA)

The official, national army of Ireland, is currently led by Chance Harrison. It was created to stop the fighting between the Irish Defence Force and the Irish Citizen’s army. The Irish army is under the control of the government and the current Minister of Defence is in charge of leading it.
The Irish Army works as a commune and soldiers have to work in Irish Army companies if they want to be supplied.

The IA is in a coalition with the ICA.

The Irish Army is open to all Irish citizens and is closely linked with the Irish Citizen’s Army.

Motto of the Irish Army: Always In The Fight!

Irish Citizen’s Army (ICA)

The current leader of the ICA is Marcus Suridius. They were dissolved at about the same time the Irish Army was created. A couple of weeks after the formation of the IA, some of the command staff of the Irish Army left and reformed the Irish Citizens Army.

The ICA works closely with IA in the defence of Ireland and sometimes shares supplies. The ICA also works in a commune based system to supply its troops meaning soldiers work in ICA companies if they wish to have supplies.

The ICA is in a coalition with the IA.

To get into the ICA, soldiers have to be invited.

Motto of the Irish Citizen’s Army: Ireland unfree shall never be at peace

Labour’s Army (LA)

Labour’s Army is currently being led by Lucky Slevin.

As Lucky Slevin notes :

"Labour’s Army’s history starts when UK invasion took place in May. ILP members needed a stronger organisation, food and weapons distribution started taking place. After a while stronger organisation was required and obtained by official creation of Labour’s Army, Irish leftist army with a goal of defending Ireland and helping new citizens growth.

With gold donations from Halk Ordusu, our comrades from Turkey and donations from LA members themselves, we set up communes where we work and receive food and weapons. We are active on our IRC channel, became an eFamily. With new comrades coming in (from other parties as well) we are bound to have a great impact on Ireland’s defence and it’s future."

Labour’s Army shares close ties with the political party, the Independent Labour Party, having all of its members in there. Labour’s Army also works in a commune with members working in LA’s companies to supply each other.

Labour’s Army is open to everyone who is not a threat to Ireland.

Motto of the Labour’s Army: Long live free Ireland!

Libertad-IRE.

This is a faction of the ex-greek military unit Libertad. Libertad was created to help smaller nations with their survival as bigger nations tend to conquer their smaller rivals for either resource bonuses or just because they can. The current leader of Libertad Ireland is Foxtrot_V.

Libertad is open to anyone who shares its views and follows its proceedures regardless of their real life ethnicity or eRepublik citizenship. Age, political affiliation, and citizenship are all considered by Libertad to be irrelevant to membership.

You can read a presentation of Libertad here : http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/band-of-brothers-a-k-a-libertad--1783906/1/20

More information: http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Libertad

Libertad supplies everyone in the unit who works in unit companies with 6 to 7 q5 weapons a day.

HAVOC

It was created by Ariovistus, who notes that :

"HAVOC was made by me just for the kicks, to test the new module. Obviously the unit is not functioning in any great capacity, just a place to hang out atm. This is because there is no added benefit given by the game to participate in MU's. IRC is free, and many sites still find info on soldier preformance, again for free. Until this changes I doubt "HAVOC" will be of any added value to the game."

The Community

If you wish to get involved with the Irish community there are multiple avenues of communication. The main ways of communication are the forums which can be located at http://www.eireland.me/forum/index.php and the IRC which can be done through multiple clients like mibbit and rizon. One of the web browser clients is rizon which can be located at http://www.rizon.net and the channel #ireland is the main Irish channel.

My apologies if I have forgotten anything.

Yours sincerely,
Irasian
Minister of New Citizens
