Interview with our CP - Jimbojoy!

As the term comes to a close,we’re delighted to bring you an interview with the CP,Jimbojoy!




How do you think your term has gone up to now?

We tend to measure our success in this game by our military victories, and by the size of our prestige. I hope to have shown promise in the former, through regaining our country and strengthening our position both in TWO and against our enemies. I don’t care what people think of my term, I know that I’ve been good for the eUK in certain areas such as getting us back on the map, and that will be my legacy. I don’t want or need praise, and by the same token don’t deserve to be castigated as I have been at times. I think the eUK needs to realise that we are, to quote a good line, “but Shadows and Dust” and keep things in perspective.




How do you think the ministries have done this term?

The MoHA has been a rock of awesome. I’m most proud of the NHS and smooth way it’s run. Cyg has been great at organising this side and I want to promote more articles as we close out the term. The MoD has been tricky this month, with people quick to criticise without understanding the situation correctly. A common misconception was that we had not “bothered” to include certain people in command messages. The case was actually that people had asked not to be included, as they “didn’t like the spam!” - which of course is referring to the few daily updates of orders that can be mailed out. The very same people were so quick to criticise order co-ordination, without checking either the static forum page or #MoD.

MoFA has been easy this month up to a point because of HQ being so British. My thanks to Mitte, Thomas765, Beta, Neb, Talon and especially Kravenn for help here - we are more highly regarded in TWO than ever before.




What do you think of the people who criticize your performance as CP?

They have made their feelings clear, they certainly won’t be getting any more of my time.



Would you ever think about running for CP in the future?

Never.




What do you think is the most difficult part of being the CP of the eUK?

The constant expectation and haranguing. I really don’t recommend it to anyone unless you have no work/school/uni/life. It’s a horrid job, but made worthwhile when congress occasionally reject your impeachment 😛



Anything you would like to say to the readers of this article and the eUK in general?

The eUK community is just that. I game with players both on and off site, and will never leave the friends I’ve made here. Get involved, use IRC, use the forums, play steam, and love eLife. It’s a big internet out there, explore it together. I hope that we just remember my term as a time when people bawww’d over nothing and moved on. I don’t need anyone to tell me I was shit or good. Just keep on keeping on.
