[MoHA] Guide to... IRC & The eUK Forums

Day 2,031, 12:25 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Hey all,

It’s me here, LongShotzZ, with yet another Home Affairs guide. This time round I’m going to be covering the two main methods used by the eUK public to communicate with one another, these two methods are IRC (inter-relay chat) and the eUK forums. Recently our country forums have undergone an update which has seen some of the systems changed to make the website more user friendly. So first of all I’d like to explain how to use IRC for all of you new players out there!

Inter-Relay Chat:

Inter-relay chat referred to by its users as IRC is an instant messaging service where chat channels can be held by users for the purpose of conversing with either a wide range of individuals or a specific group of people. Members of the eUK currently use IRC for political and military uses as it is easy to use and takes but a few seconds to set-up an account with. The IRC system merely requires the input of a username and then can be used by the player for that sitting, so does not require an entire sign-up system but this is highly recommended if you want access to specific channels. The current way to join the eUK channel from the IRC server screen (remember to be on the rizon server!) is by typing in /j #eUK, this should allow you to chat in the eUK channel with other citizens! Various political parties and military units have different names and here are just a few to get you starte😛

#newera
#tup.public
#ukrp
#wrp
#ukpp
#pcp
And many, many more…!

So I look forwards to seeing all of you new citizens on IRC and if you ever want to find out the latest news on the government, congress or military supplies then be sure to swing by and there’ll always be someone online to give you the information you need! Now moving onto the topic of the eUK forums…

The eUK Forums:

The eUK forums are used by more dedicated members of the community and are a good way for political parties and military units to communicate via as they contain private forums for the majority of parties/units that only members of them may access! The forums have recently been updated making the interface more user-friendly and upgrading the graphical feel of the website with easily identifiable icons to identify topics including: new posts, a certain number of posts/hot topics, pinned topics and poll topics! To request access to a special forum you must first create an account which may take a few minutes but is well worth the time and effort, then you must enter the sub-forum named “Access Requests”. Once you have reached this sub-forum you can then post a topic to request access to a party/military unit forum or you may even start a sponsor form to create a new forum if you have a new party or military unit set-up. The forums also provide users with an ability to view new replies to their posts and unread posts since their last visit instead of sifting through pages of posts to find responses!

Hopefully this article has provided you with the information you need in order to use IRC and the eUK forums easily. If you do however feel that you need more information on specific areas then please message me with any questions, comments or concerns and I shall respond to you at my earliest convenience!
