BASIC
Starting a war
A war can be started in three ways:
- by declaring it to another bordering country;
- by airstriking another not bordering country;
- by setting another bordering country as a natural enemy.
Starting fee
When declaring a war, the initiator must pay gold depending on its population. Airstrike has a certain variable cost in Energy and currency. If country is set as a natural enemy, neither gold or currency will be charged to start a war.
At Erepublik, there is 2 kinds of war :
- Normal ones who are Country A (+ its allies) vs Country B (+ its allies)
- Resistance wars who are Current owner of the region vs Resistance of the original owner
In resistance wars : there is no allies to help the country or the resistance and you must be located on the country of the current owner
Join the battlefield
On the main menu, you will be able to see campaign of the day (who is decided by the Country president of the country where you are located). Click on « fight » and you will join the battlefield
If you are member of a MU, you can join by making your daily order. You will have a free energy bar.
WAR MECHANICS
Wars have campaigns in which two countries and possibly their allies fight for a region: one defends it and others try to conquer it. Campaigns have many battles. In each battle there are 4 divisions, decided by experience level. Each division fights their own "miniature" battle, separate from each other.
Example: A citizen of level 51 experience enters a battle. That citizen will be fighting in Division 3, because of his experience level.
Campaigns
Campaigns are fights over region. Campaigns last from 12 hours to 30 hours depending on how many battles are needed to get enough points to win the campaign. The winner of a campaign is the side which first wins 83 points in total and will get to attack next in the war. Each division is worth a different amount of points, it is scored as follows:
Campaign hero medals are awarded for the whole campaign to 2 soldiers: one for the attacker's best soldier and one for defender's best soldier, regardless of division.
Battles
Every campaign has 8-15 battles which last from 1.5 hours to 2 hours depending on how dominant one combatant is.
Note: the battle is automatically closed after 2 hours, even if the sides don't reach 1800 points.
The winner of each divisional battle is the side that first reaches over 1800 points, or the one who has more points after 2 hours of battle. Every minute one side has over 50% control will award the side with X number of points where X is:
0-30 minutes into the battle, 10 points at every minute;
31-60 minutes into the battle, 20 points at every minute;
61-90 minutes into the battle; 30 points at every minute;
91-120 minutes into the battle, 60 points at every minute.
In order for a battle to end, every division needs a side to reach 1800 points. If one division finishes before the rest they must wait until all divisional battles are finished before the next one can begin. This way all divisions start at the same time each battle.
Note: If both countries have 1800 points at the end (division is tied), defender will be declared as winner.
Battle hero achievements are awarded in every battle to 8 soldiers: One to each citizen with the highest influence in their separate division, on both sides. If 2 citizens deal the same influence, citizen with the higher XP will receive the Battle Hero medal.
The amount of gold received through the Battle Hero medal varies by division.
ENDING A WAR
There is also 2 ways to end a war:
signing a peace treaty
having no more common borders, when no campaign (resistance campaigns excluded) in that war is active.
If the two countries no longer share a common border, the Natural Enemy is cancelled.

There is an economic module?

Step #1, buy gold with real monies.
Step #2, exchange for cc on money market.
Step #3, buy what you need from the bloated markets of Plato induced overproduction. These guys still erroneously believe they can actually make a meaningful profit producing crap no one buys. Pity the poor soul that thinks they can do something just working for a few cc per day.
Step #4, go about your business clicking the fight button.
Very good article!
...b'coz of last sentence! : )

BTW, if you're a newb, probably the biggest mistake you can make is to blow your early gold bonuses until you've been around long enough to understand where best to invest it. Hoard your gold. Down to road it'll make the difference between being self-sufficient and a penniless beggar.
True 😉
Don't spend gold on ANYTHING except Training Ground upgrades, especially the first two (free & 0.19). When all TG's are Q4 then buy 90% Training Contract.

To summarize: Press the Fight button until you've spent your energy. Wait a few hours and repeat.
