Hello eIreland,

Today we'll be continuing with our Question and Answer series. Our last Q&A can be found here.

The Q&A will work very simply, send us your questions here:

New and interesting questions will be published in articles like this one, and commonly asked questions will eventually be featured in a shiny new FAQ.

Today's Questions

Please provide more information for the free supplies for the Bootcamp?
In addition to the supplies designated to new citizens by eIrish Bootcamp, our national military unit, Irish Army, recently opened its Supply System to Bootcamp members. This supply system offers 10Q7/40IEP each day to those who work in designated communes.

You can find information about joining the Irish Army supply network here.

Who/what are CoT and TWO?
These are the two major alliances of nations in eRepublik. They are currently at war with each other creating an almost bi-polar global alliance situation, where even nations that are not a member of either alliance must gravitate to one side or the other. At the moment TWO is occupying CoT decisively with several holds in North America and firm control in South America and Europe.

You can find the details of which nations are in each alliance here. There are a total of 5 alliances in eRepublik currently. For more general information about alliances read here.

Major Nations of TWO (The World is Ours):
United Kingdom, Poland, Spain, Serbia, Greece, Hungary.

Power Level: Extreme
eIrish Relations: Very Bad/Enemies
Current Military Situation: Complete Dominance

Major Nations of CoT (Circle of Trust):
USA, Bulgaria, Mexico, Chile, Russia, Indonesia.

Power Level: High
eIrish Relations: Good/Considered Friendly
Current Military Situation: Extremely Poor

I'm thinking of running to become a congress member, any tips on how to become one?
Good question. The first thing you need is a political party which is in the top five for members - this is because only the top five parties are allowed to put forward candidates. Once you have that you need to understand the basics of how Congress (in eIreland often called Dáil) elections work.

How Congress/Dáil elections work:

1. Those in a party who want to become congress representatives go to their party page and scroll down to where it say "Run for congress" *click*, they are now on the list of proposed candidates for that party.

2. On the 24th the party president of each party goes through the proposed candidates and orders them from first to last priority to create the order of the candidates that will appear on election day.

3. On the 25th of the month, it is now congress election day. Citizens of each nation vote for their party of choice (not the individual candidates, but the party as a whole).

4. A maximum of 40 congressmen are elected to each country based on the percentage of votes received. If the Conservative party receives 25% of the votes then 25% of the 40 congressmen will be from that party - therefore the first 10 candidates on the list ordered by the party president will be given congressional rights.

Tips On Earning Your Dáil Seat:

First and foremost become active and vocal. Read and learn about current issues and the quirks of the game so that you can demonstrate your understanding during conversations and leave intelligent comments on articles you read.

Start a newspaper and introduce yourself to the community. Represent yourself as eager to dive in and willing to learn - there will be no shortage of parties, military units, and mentors happy to take on a new recruit.

Get to know members of your party and be friendly and willing to help... essentially make yourself recognized and earn the trust of your peers so that they will feel comfortable electing you to represent them. Look for parties that give opportunities to new citizens and that offer help and guidance so that you can learn the ropes faster - if the party has invested training in you, they'll want to put it to work. 😉

In you opinion what are the basic requirements to become CP just in case I want to run later in my e-life?

Another good question in the realm of eRepublik politics. First of all, I don't advise having "become Country President" as your main goal. Goals such as becoming a congress representative, writing an article in the top 5, working in a government ministry, or gaining position in a political party or military unit, are ambitious enough. And in fact setting these goals is the best way to gain the qualifications needed for a good country president.

So what are the basic requirements for a Country President?
1. Well known public figure - write articles, be vocal in the comments sections and shout feeds, have real opinions, show intelligence and a mind of your own.

2. Experience in at least one of the big three government departments - Finance, Defence, Foreign Affairs, the corner stones of eIrish government. Hunker down and understand at least one of these inside and out, offer your services and show your merit to work your way up. Working in any one of these ministries will give you knowledge of the real cogs and wheels of government - giving you insight into how to run the show.

3. Political Charisma - No matter how smart, experienced, and famous you are, if no one likes you no one will vote for you. If you want to be CP you'll need to have ideas and a personality that are widely appealing to citizens across the demographics of eIreland. Be respectful but bold, show humility and pride, be accountable and demonstrate that you're worthy to represent eIreland on the world stage.

Of course, at the end of the day not all CP's have been all of those things - but if you aspire to those standards than you'll not only one day make a great leader of the nation, but you'll be a great leader and citizen in the community regardless.

Conclusion
Thanks once again for those great questions and please don't hesitate to continue sending more. Citizens new and old are invited to ask questions and I'll do my best to find out the answers. If I don't know the answer then I can just post it here to see if someone else does!

Cheers!
