[MoD] The Region Swap with Poland

Dear burgers,
As you can already see we have voted and accepted an NE against Poland. This is due to a region swap per our original treaty. Although Poland has conquests in Asgard and will continue to hold them as they can, they are retaking our oil for resource security. As per our situation we will be complying.
The plan is as follows: We will NE Poland and lose every battle until we are wiped. From there we will RW North and East NL with assistance from Poland. Our tax revenue that goes to Poland will be returned as it has been done in the past.
I still encourage everyone to fight for Freedom Fighters, True Patriots, and Battle Heroes throughout the campaign. There is no problem with throwing your damage out to get a little bit of gold since we can’t win these battles anyway. As always I hope you all focus on the daily order and priority battles, but feel free to grab some medals.
What does this mean about next congress elections? Well we will only have two regions next congress election so it would be expected that we have only 20 seats. This is a safe bet. The alternative is to look for regions in the north (Norway). Currently UK controls southern Norway, but there are ways we can negotiate and fight to claim two extra regions with little cost to ourselves. This will be something the next administration will have to decide, but let it be known that it is very possible for us to maintain a 40 seat congress.

Beste mensen, dat klopt dus niet. Oh jeetje wat zijn we slecht af dat we twee regio's afstaan, maar het is beter dan de voorgaande situatie waar alle regio's waren afgepakt en we in een isolement verkeerden. Oh nee, geen isolement, we hadden natuurlijk onze goede maat Noorwegen die ons steeds kwam helpen in de RW's.

If it really were easy you would have dealt with it yourself/your team. You know very well it ain't as you stated otherwise we would have kept Norway in the first place. But hey; Now you can say a next team F*cked up....
And Garmr; Get you're facts straight please; The deal with Poland about using our regions and them repaying the taxes goes way back and is not caused by this or any of the last 3 gov's that you seem to love for their politics. The deal started day 2221. During the last term of MdR.
[Sarcasm on]The one that f*ucked us all up due to his relation with Poland remember due to which we couldn't sign a deal. Luckily all is better now he's gone as we have a way better deal in place and get lots of help maintaining extra regions and all is better now in eNL.[/Sarcasm off]
MdR was only the one who signed it after the deal was made by 'Maarten II'. I don't really like it when people take/get credit for things that are done by others.
The start of it being day 2221 was almost halfway MdR's term. And yes there was already some work done before MdR's term. Around a week after the determination bonus was introduced talks were started. DB was introduced day 2191 so around 2198 talks started. Maarten's term ended ten days later without a deal in place yet. No doubt he started it and made the first draft. Perhaps even the final version, but it wasn't signed. It was finalised under MdR's gov. Which is a big surprise as he is "unable to talk with the Polish people" according to some. I myself was even warned he should not talk about the deal should he become elected. But guess what; He was elected and the deal was signed. It ain't all black and white you know. But for the ones fond of one-liners it seems to be 🙁.
But you're statement about credits is absolutely correct and precisely the reason I made the above post while not being political active on purpose for quite some time. Matters are presented as if this or the latest gov managed to pull things off. They managed nothing of the sort. All we have is an extended treaty that was even ignored during Aries term but reinstated by Poland itself.
If this or the previous govs would have changed the conditions in such a way we would also benefit they could take credit for it, but they didn't. If our new friends/allies or whatever people are calling them are even remotely that we would have a way better deal than just a repayment of our lost taxes wouldn't you say? A rent agreement would be the least. And I'm not even talking about the losses for our citizens with factories/raw comps. I myself loose 22 Q7 weps a day if we don't own west NL and I wont be the only one. As a result I can fight less and/or pay less tanks and other supplies to some of my workers.
Credit belongs where credit should be. Be it Maarten or be it MdR or both. Most certainly however not one of the last 3 gov's when it comes to this deal.
It wasn't signed under MaartenW II because it needed to go trough congress first. Something that was neglected a few months before. Their congress wasn't willingly at first because MdR was still there, it was even stated like that in their newspapers.
After half a month of discussion on their side (yes that is why it took so long) they realized that it is much easier to have a cooperative Netherlands than a hostile one and holding of because of MdR was just not worth it.
It will take some money and allied support, but it is very possible. We can't hold long term, but we can hold short term.
Then what is the use if it costs the money you earn with it?
A smaller congress functions better anyway.
That's up to the next administration.
Swap means something like exchange or trade right? So what do we get back? Rent? Other regions? Gold for lost congres seat?
And don't start with the crap that we otherwise would be perma wiped. Ofcourse we will, but that deal we have had for quite some time now. We had a poll about alliances and we have had several statements from this and previous govs about us joining an Alliance. One might expect us to get a real deal that also benefits us after all these months. Afterall several key players that have been in the office the last couple of months told previous gov's the didn't act. I even saw people state things like; Let me do the talking and I get us a deal within hours. Not that I've taken that kind of statements serious but it's about time they deliver and not only pay loads of our cash as we have done no doubt the last couple of months. Or were all those supplies donated by our alies? Nah, didn't think so indeed.
nlg, and we get two regions. Also we get to be on the world stage, and have fun in norway. Also we'll gain influence with the most powerfull nation on the eworld. Verre-buur is een goede vriend-policy

I witnessed a year of oppression with us losing numbers, international merit, and allies. After that I decided I will no longer "fight the good fight" when all it means is decay for Netherlands. For now the majority has taken this option, but you are free to repeat history and try to change us back into a warring state against an unbeatable enemy.
thats why need to join an alliance...this isnt friendship..its acceptance to slavery..they whistle and eNL citizens have to dance to entertain them 🙂
