[MoC] PANAM Involvement Update [EN/FR]

Over the last few days several government officials have received questions regarding Canada’s standing in the PANAM alliance. There seems to be confusion among citizens about our relations with PANAM so I requested an update from our Jacobi, our Minister of Foreign Affairs. Currently, Canada is involved with the PANAM alliance, albeit we are only a conditional member as per the arrangement in this article. For the time being, we are involved and integrated with the PANAM alliance on every level that exists. We have not at this time opted to leave EDEN and there are currently no plans to do so.



As far as activity goes, we participated in the recent election for a PANAM Supreme Commander and Secretary General. As a result of the elections, St Krems will be the Secretary General and tavo92 will be the Supreme Commander. We also voted in support of allowing Turkey and France into PANAM. A new charter has yet to be drafted for the alliance, however it is expected that because of the elections, a proposal will be brought forward at some point in the next week.

Au cours des derniers jours, plusieurs responsables du gouvernement ont reçu des questions concernant la position du Canada dans l'alliance PANAM. Il semble y avoir confusion pour les citoyens avec nos relations avec PANAM. J'ai donc demandé une mise à jour de notre cher Jacobi, notre ministre des Affaires étrangères. Actuellement, le Canada fait partie de l'alliance PANAM, mais nous ne sommes qu'à un membre de sursis par la disposition dans cet article. Pour le moment, nous sommes impliqués et intégrés à l'alliance PANAM à tous les niveaux qui existent. Nous n'avons pas encore choisi de quitter EDEN et ce n’est pas dans nos intérêts de le faire dès maintenant.



En ce qui concerne l'implication, nous avons participé à la récente élection d'un commandant suprême de la PANAM et le secrétaire général. À la suite des élections, St Krems sera le Secrétaire général et tavo92 sera le commandant suprême. Nous avons également voté en faveur de permettre à la Turquie et la France d’intégrer PANAM. Une nouvelle charte n'a pas encore été rédigée pour l'Alliance, mais on s'attend à ce que à cause des élections, une proposition sera présentée à un moment donné dans la semaine prochaine.
