[MoC] Ministry of Communication Monday Madness - #3
eUK Home Office
Hi guys!
This is the third Monday Madness article by the Communications team this term. We will be providing you with an update on Ministry work and, of course, the usual game/challenge at the end.
Welcome message
So, the new welcome message was finally voted on and passed through Congress to the extent that it is now a reality. However, some eUK citizens started a thread on the forums to complain about some issues with this message. While I welcome any constructive criticism, I just wish those comments could have been made earlier I guess. As it is, congress debate on this issue was badly staggered due to the wars this month.
The message will remain for now, but the Communications team is currently exploring the points and options raised in the forum thread. I would like to thank the forum debaters for their positive contributions. o7
Recruitment/messaging team
In regards to this, last week a call went out for volunteers to join an informal messaging team to welcome newcomers as they arrive. This week I am pleased to announce that two helpful citizens have answered that call, and we will continue to contact new eUK citizens as they arrive. With more people onboard we will be able to adopt more in-depth methods to ensure we contact every newcomer instead of risking their becoming lost with no idea of how to find help.
Of course, we will welcome more volunteers! o7
On Challenges
It’s reasonable to assume that the weekly challenge, with all the scrambling for prestige points, maintained the level of the eUK output of damage in the past couple of days, where normally it would have dropped due to lack of eUK battles in said time period. :3
It’s gladdening to see this community so competitive. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the puzzles and tasks myself and Inez put out for you in the past two weeks. A couple of people had a go at the codebreaking competition two weeks ago, but NO-ONE even tried the competition we laid out last week.
So, this week, I’m gonna lay out something very simple and enjoyable – SPACE INVADERS!!!. Just click on the picture above to play. Arrow keys to move, space to fire and all that.
As usual, prizes will be given away. First place gets 5 gold, second place gets 300 GBP and third place gets 10 q7 weapons. Send a screenshot of your score to me or post below in comments. Shoo, go have fun. :3
Cheers,
Tialys Cypress
co-Minister for Communication

Regarding the welcome message thread I started on the forum, you say "While I welcome any constructive criticism, I just wish those comments could have been made earlier I guess."
I would just like to point out that until it went to vote in Congress, as far as I'm aware, the text wasn't available for the general public to view, so I couldn't have commented earlier.
As you suggest though, the thread was full of constructive criticism with many solutions offered. I do hope the government take on board the points raised.
Of course, I just realised you weren't a congress member then. My bad.
oh well, a little rusty...here's the link.
