[MC] UKRP PP manifesto: lets go one better

Day 1,181, 07:07 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Michael Crookes

Before I begin this article I would like to apologise to my subscribers for not releasing many articles in the past few weeks (besides manifestos) I have been very busy both in RL and in game but I hope that you will forgive me and I will work on producing more articles in the future. for now however, another manifesto, lets get to it:

Well, as you will have guessed by now (if you didn’t already know) I will be re-running for Party President in the next elections. Should I be fortunate enough to win the election I would be looking to build on what I see as a largely positive first term.

In never seem to know how to start a manifesto so I am just going to dive straight in.

Experience

So far as experience goes, I am still not a particularly strong candidate (3xcongress, 2x ambassador, 1x PP and just started as an apprentice in the MoHA). I was also promoted to captain of the HMS George norfolk (of the eUK army) yesterday, although I haven't been in that job nearly long enough for it to properly qualify as experience.

However, while I am not the most experienced candidate for the job that you will ever see, I will say thus: I know how this party works and I fully believe in the party. I am utterly committed to the eUK and the UKRP and will work hard to ensure a bright future for both.

Jobs

The job structure will be fairly similar to last term with a couple of adjustments and additions, so without further ado, lets jump in:

Congress Director- This month if I win the elections the congress director will be responsible for the entire of the congress elections. He will be responsible for both co-ordinating placement and directing votes. Of course he will not be expected to do the whole election single handed, others will be needed to help out, but he will be the person responsible for the whole operation (along with myself).

Congress Whip - This is a position which has not been done particularly well (on the whole) over the last couple of months. I believe this is in part down to the fact that the congress whip is sometimes not re-elected to congress and the momentum is lost (as we saw this month). To avoid this, I will personally PM members of congress for any major discussions/votes until after the congress elections, at which point a whip will be appointed.

Task groups- Once again I will be looking to operate task groups if I am elected this term. I believe that while the idea of the task groups is strong, the implementation last term had its problems. The main issue (I believe) was a lack of awareness of when people were expected to be performing certain tasks. For this reason I am introducing a new role to help maintain the efficiency which we saw at the start of this term. The task groups will essentially fulfil the exact same role as this term with a few extra responsibilities.

Task group leaders- Each task group will have a leader who is responsible for ensuring that their team is sharing the work fairly and that all of their tasks are completed on time and to a good standard. I will have a meeting with the task group leaders on the irc shortly after the election and we will allocate jobs and discuss ideas for the coming term.

deputy PP- as always, a dPP will be chosen so that if I become inactive (don’t worry, I am going nowhere), then the party will be able to maintain/improve of it’s status within the eUK rather than fall into disarray. Nuf said 😛

Mobile voting

As I am sure those of you who were there in the last elections will agree, the mobile voting (and in particular last minute voting) was very efficient and effective. For this reason, the same set of principles as last month will again be applied this month (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!). Accordingly, the MV channel will be set to voice only at 7:45, which will limit confusion and ensure instructions are clear and precise.

I will end by once again saying that which I have said since the beginning of my last term: If we are not united, working towards a common goal, then this month can’t be a success no matter how much I try. However, if we are united and are all working hard not just for the country but to help one another, then this will be a month to remember 😉

Last month we did well, watching Jhorlin regain the role of Country President and securing 14 seats in congress (the party record). However, I believe that records are made to be broken and together we can break this one...lets go one better
