I saw this, and I just laughed so hard I knew it fit
BREIF WARNING - THIS ARTICLE IS HUGE AND LONG WINDED, BUT TAKE YOUR TIME TO READ SO YOU DON'T MAKE A STUPID ARGUMENT IN THE COMMENTS
Good evening America! Yep, still not Serbia Jr thankgod.
I thought I’d take a bit of time between my last article and this one because I hate putting out content I consider subpar … although I think I peaked with the attack on Pizza. But then this topic landed in my lap and it got the few gears that still work in my brain going faster than ever.
This topic is probably one of the more divisive arguments in the eUS today, and who knows, maybe I can spur a bit more debate with this article. Just, keep it clean he? I wince when I see low blows.
OH YES! Plato’s second favourite way of inciting war (First being playing on RL tensions … See: Eternal Balkans War). Everyone wants a strong economy … everyone wants lots of food and weapons … EVERYONE WANTS BONUSES! Those with a lot of companies love it when we have a lot of bonuses because their production goes through the roof and they can profit more from it. All the newbies like it because prices lower due to the enourmous influx of products on the market.
For a long time, I was a fan of bonuses. I, like the example above, loved being able to create a crap ton of products and raw materials that I could sell for thousands of dollars. I felt rich and that was a feeling that made me feel like I’d finally made it somewhere in this game where you can go from rags to riches and back to rags faster than Jimmy Savile can get hard seeing kids. (Too soon?)
But this game has a way of jading even the most optimistic players. This was round about the time I started to get deeper into the game and suddenly, what I thought I knew and understood took a darker turn and I became more cynical of things. Peoples actions weren’t always clear cut and rosy images weren’t so crystal.
Under the shiny veneer of promised prosperity, bonuses bring a dark side of their own … a dark side that doesn’t have cookies (THE HORROR!).
An existing threat grows
For a long time, the United States has been under a small, tiny PTO threat. Ajay has always had his sights set on the PotUS seat since he started playing this game (You’d of thought he’d give up after 3 years of constant failure and humiliation, but apparently, he must be a masochist among other things) but we always beat him back and laughed while doing it. He was always the one thing the nation could rally against whole heartedly.
Then we got the bonuses and our population exploded. Problem was, it wasn’t a baby boom … it was an immigration boom. Citizenship Passes aplenty and we looked such an attractive place to be. Commune holders from all over EDEN and TERRA flocked to us as we opened our arms to them to share our newfound prosperity. We were becoming richer and we wanted our allies to share in our bountiful wealth.
But beneath this, sinister people lurked and managed to infiltrate. Serbians … Hungarians … FYROMians … each of our enemies slowly began to get some of their people into the country, where they would either coalesce with the degenerate Pizza, or spread out to avoid detection considering the former was bound to get you noticed and shouted out against. As long as we had bonuses, they could build their numbers because they had the opportunity.
The game changer
And then Plato comes along. The Plato we all loved to hate on … with good reason considering how he’d dramatically changed the game we all loved into something we barely recognised. He came to us this time with the promise of a change to the political module. We were sceptical. All his previous “promise of big changes” had been pitiful at best.
But this was big … and bad.
Suddenly, we didn’t run congressional elections by states. We ran by parties alone and by the popular vote. In a nutshell … his one change had destroyed a major part of each Parties PAC Departments and given our enemies the big breakthrough they needed. Next thing you know, the AFA had formed and was in the Top 5. Despite our efforts, they couldn’t be stopped and they were guaranteed congressmen.
The age of the PTO was imminent.
So the people in the government decided (before this luckily, but maybe a little too late) to drop bonuses we had gained. They saw the problem, they acted to try and remedy it. Of course, this is where the nation divided. Those that supported the governments actions understood their logic. And those that saw the logic, disagreed with it and gave their own counterargument as to why we should KEEP bonuses.
I’m sure I will be accused of being in bed with the elitists (Meh, I’ve been called an elitist, so bring on the accusations), but I still firmly stand by the fact we need to drop bonuses.
Haven’t you noticed that despite all the citizenship passes the AFA possessed, their share of congress barely increased by the dramatic amount it should of? They could probably c***-block important laws with the numbers they’re supposed to have … BUT THEY HAVEN’T.
Sure, it’s a combination of reasons – Not all of them are diehard PTOers who will tough it out. Some of them are tired of constantly being beaten back and as such ****ed off back to their homelands.
But a combination it is and you CANNOT deny that the losing of out bonuses has helped contribute to this. America is less attractive to bonus-seekers especially when their homelands have better bonuses than we do. Slowly we are stemming the PTO, we might manage to stop it, or we might fail, but this is where you guys come in.
I’m going to repeat my mantra (It seems to of become that) to not do this to support the elites. Trust me, you’ll find that this isn’t just about them. This is about saving our country. Lose a couple of bonuses for the medium term and allow us to put into practise safeguards to prevent things getting this bad again … or let the PTO win and lose the country, funds for newbies and our military ... for an indeterminable amount of time.
I know I’d rather be poorer than PTO’d. What about you?
Keep it chillin eAmerica!
