~It's Necessary: Erepublik Trivia~

Day 428, 05:43 Published in USA USA by Benn Dover

It's been said numerous times - the trivia in this game is horrible. Nobody cares what the deepest river in America is. We play this game to get involved in a "New World", not the real world. Everybody always says that You can't relate anything in erepublik to the real world because the two are entirely different - and it's true, they are! We see this the most in politics and business-management, specifically through the economy. If you want to make your game more relevant to the New World, change the trivia system.

Many have suggested it before, but here's my opinion.

Keep the trivia system, change the questions. Again, not a single citizen in Erepublik is going to have fun by answering obscure, irrelevant questions relating to things outside the game. Instead, make the questions actually about the game! It's beyond me why you chose not to do this in the first place, considering that you'd get mucho assistance.

Two months ago, the following was state😛 "We are starting to work on small modules improvements. Better trivia questions and improvements to the war module are among our top priorities."

You want improvements? Ask for help! I swear to Dio that if you put the following (not verbatim of course) in your newspaper -

"The erepublik staff realizes that trivia was loathed since day one. It is a very hard system to change, but we finally have been bouncing ideas off of each other. We are going to implement Erepublik related trivia from now on, and we need your help! If you have any suggestions for trivia questions, please email us here with them so that your voice can be hear😛 (Insert email here)."

- then you will get enough feedback from citizens across the globe to suffice for thousands of trivia questions. Nobody cares about the US's involvement in Vietnam, this is a whole new world for us. Make everything in this game revolve around the world itself and you've got a significantly better game.

Here's to erepublik-related trivia,
*Cheers*

Edit:

Just wanted to make a short list of the current problems with the overall trivia system.

1) Internationalism. If you can't read english, can't read the trivia, then you can't be productive.
2) RL factor. Stated thoroughly in this article.
3) Bugs. Just fix em... and those of you whining about bugs in the game - stop complaining. If you hate the game this bad, just come back when it's better.
4) Employee factor. The difference between producing one Q5 weapon and two Q5 weapons is huge, and is controlled by the trivia factor. How can I know what to pay my employees if I don't know how sufficient their trivia has been?
