[Huey George] Update #4 from 10 Downing Street - October 2014

Day 2,522, 11:31 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Introduction

Just a quick update from your Country President

War with Canada

Some of you may have noticed the recently proposed Law Proposal - "Canada has been proposed as Natural Enemy."

The reasons behind this are; a Training War with Belgium has been agreed however may not start soon coupled; with a growing call from our citizenry for the United Kingdom to be involved in direct conflict. A request from Albania was presented to your representatives in Congress.

This request was to support an Albanian airstrike in Canada with a ground offensive by own our forces.

I still believe we moving towards an uncertain world so it's a prudent course of action to take care internationally as short-term rash decision may have longer term consequences. Additionally as a country we cannot afford to 'buy' too many battles with Command Orders especially to win Canadian regions as I'd like to save funds for Command Orders to defend resource bonuses (if it was to come to this). This means our fighters will have to fight without CO incentives most of the time however I feel this is a low risk as our fighters are eager. Saying this the MoD has been provide with a modest amount for Command Orders from the outset so we won't be completely un-supportive to our excellent fighting forces.

Positively, The President of the United States of America has no objections to our forces having a little fun North of their borders. The MoD analysis of the battle situation also makes for 'positive reading'. We outperform Canada in terms of damage, that with the damage from Albania and Canada's own airstrike/war in Pakistan means our forces should meet with success.

Despite the low risk and positives I have to admit I'm still in two minds about this conflict (maybe I'm too prudent) however I trust Congress and I like to say I listen to the citizens I have the honour of representing so will be fully supporting Congress' decision by voting with the majority towards the end of the vote while listening to feedback from the public.

Law Proposals

- Mutual Protection Pacts

Macedonia

Our MPP with Macedonia did expire. While I saw many benefits to a re-signing of this mutual pact of protection primarily being supportive to Macedonia in their conflicts I respect Congress's decision not to 're-sign' this MPP.

I salute Macedonia in for their support during our MPP and wish them the best in their conflicts. I'm sure many of our citizens may support their battles at times without a MPP between Macedonia and ourselves in place. We may ask Congress once again to consider a MPP with you in the future, if as a Government we feel we can present a stronger case.

Close

Again I'd like to end by saying don't hesitate to drop me a message if you have a request of me. I may not be able to guarantee a swift reply at times however I'd like to address any concerns or queries you may have.

Thanks for reading
