[Huey George] Update #10 from 10 Downing Street - October 2014

Day 2,542, 14:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Introduction

I like to lead with a big thank you to all those who have taken the time to write kind words and messages about my term in office in this my final update from 10 Downing Street. Although I haven't won everyone over... "without a doubt. I, for one, remain underwhelmed by This month's tweedle dee" is another gem of a quote from the UK media to bring a smile to my face. Let's continue to underwhelm jamesw for my final update.

The War with Canada

You will have noticed it is on at full pace. Crucial wins in Northern Ireland and Wales have lead to the offensive being returned to Canadian soil and the UK once again in possession of all her original regions. The offensive in Canada goes well with win in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nunavut and soon to be Manitoba. These victories in Canada have lead us to extra resources in the form of deer (Prince Edward Island) and soon hopefully granite (Manitoba) as well as extra tax revenue.

However war is not waged by one or two of us, it waged by all of us, so credit goes to each one of us who have contributed to battles either in a large way or small. I salute you all.

Law Proposals

- Mutual Protection Pacts

Estonia

We have renewed our MPP with Estonia as our two countries continue to work closely together.

Croatia

After discussions with my cabinet, diplomatic talks with my presidential counterpart and consultation with members of Congress we renewed our MPP with fellow Sirius Ally and friend Croatia.

Germany

On the suggestion of Congress and diplomatic talks with my presidential counterpart we signed a MPP with Germany, as the Germans consider us a close ally and were keen to help us with Canada.

MoHA

I'd like to drawn attention to the excellent articles coming from tht eUK Home Office News. BaronChris and his team have been doing a tremedous job as this term draws to a close.

MoFA

In the latest Sirius meeting. Our own Kapten Johnson was elected to be the new SG until the next elections on the 10th of November and thelasttrenzalore was elected MC. Congratulations to them both, especially Kapten who has worked tirelessly in the background as my MoFA this term.

Expansion of Combat Order Spend

17th October to 5th November

MoD spend unless otherwise stated

18th October – 7.5k – Prince Edward Island
20th - 23rd October – 36k – Wales & North West of England
25th - 27th October – 57.5k – Northern Ireland & Scotland
29th - 31st October – 40k - West Midlands & East Midlands
31st - 1st October/November – 52.5k (+65k via Irregulars/CP Combat Orders) – Northern Ireland and Wales
2nd November – 16.5k – Newfoundland and Labrador

Overall in October we spent 275k (210k via MoD 65k via the Free British Irregulars/CP) spend with 55k (49k with the MoD 15k with the Free British Irregulars) still remaining for the next term.

How does October Combat Order spend compare with other months?

Well in September we spent 165k on Combat Orders and in August we spent 250k on Combat Orders.

CP Combat Orders

My own use of Combat Orders was a difficult decision however one I stand by. On the 31st of October we were 42 points to 2 points down in Northern Ireland, so I placed a series of COs across Div IV, III and II during Battle 5 and 6 costing us 65k when you add what the MoD had used earlier and used later in Northern Ireland plus what our allies and private citizens contributed, this was a costly battle. However this battle saw the turn of the tide in the war between ourselves and Canada and finish off the major Canadian COs. Since then we've not stopped winning.

Close

I'd like to close by saying it has been an absolute pleasure and honour to serve as your Country President.

Thanks for reading
