^.^ Happy Birthday to Me: A Celebration of 1 Year ^.^

Greetings My Fellow eRepublikans!

Over the course of a year, I have spent my entire life in two eNations: Turkey and USA. The course of my eLife thus far has been an interesting one to be sure: lots of laughs, lots of cries, lots of good times.

My Humble Beginnings: TOTAL FAILURE

I know this might be something for many people to believe, but when I began this game, I was a total n00b who nobody liked. I started in Salem, Oregon (as I am a native Oregonian) and joined the Libertarian party, where I cast my first vote in the game for Emerick for Party President. Immunogenic ended up winning and July was unbearably boring. I tried to make some funnies in my first paper The Timely Bitch, but nothing ever really panned out. (For V1 babies who never experienced it: papers used to go to this page of hell that was a user account--Suspended--that housed thousands of papers from the people who moved nations; because every time you moved you lost your paper.)

Right before August (I wanna say July 27th...but can't be sure), I finally scraped up enough money to move to Turkey to hang out with my IRL friend who invited me to the game, Phaedrus Lidox. I voted for him in the August presidential elections--he won of course. As he was the leader of the Goons, it was only after he said "guys, she's cool" that I became socially accepted by most. (Note: Without that nod, none of the rest of my eLife ever could have happened. The blessing of my father Lido was paramount.)

My First Real Life: TURKISH DELIGHTS

When I got to Turkey, I basically hung around reading QJLincoln's, Constantibeanpole's, and Farmer Bob's articles about onrche (I'll never forget the onrche eating a snow cone video) to pass the time, and even tried writing some of my own in Timely Bitch (which of course went to the user from hell page that froze everything but safari on my laptop). I fought in the Ibero-American war in Mexico. I shot some Portuguese soldiers (one being anarquia and the other Abdulah Ramid) instead of the Spanish, got sniped by Alucard Bloodlust, and almost died. Soon, the majority of Goons emigrated or died off in the great boredom plague, and I was left to basically fend for myself with Vanjaturk and Giray Garriscus.

After the banning of Phaedrus Lidox and the Goon disinterest in politics and emigration, Turkey became much of a scene from a movie in which Turks and Jews bickered with one another endlessly over the land...with very little relief. It was actually quite irritating. Along with friends from both sides, I tried to help become an outside mediator to try to bring relief to the situation. However, because I was always seen as an outsider. I worked with friends like Giray, Dynimum, anarco77, Swifty, and Bada Boom for what seemed like endless hours. I published articles in A Timely Bitch almost every day. I finally earned a seat in congress after a long, hard fight. I married an IRL Turk to help bring peace to the nation...that lasted for about 24 hours.

Eventually I gained the respect of the Communist Party of Turkey and the Jewish Unity and became party president of People's Democratic Voice (formerly the ABK), and I eventually ran for Turkish President and lost to onrche 136 to 118. I was p sad. That was when I realized that I could never win over the hearts and minds of the majority in a nation that was not really my own. I became really worn down by putting 2 months of work into creating peace in a nation where so many fought so hard against it. I remember an American journalist who took great interest in the elections scandals and the craziness of eTurkey: his name was Emerick. He wrote a lovely piece called "Big Trouble in Little Turkey" about the battles between onrche and myself (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/big-trouble-in-little-turkey--692075/1/20). Then...I met Benn Dover. We were election buddies on the night of the presidential elections, and he helped me try to surge to get in there for the win while I supported his slaughter from afar. From that moment on, I knew he had tagged me for greatness.

Back in the States: SMOOTH REENTRY

The moment I hit the eUSA for the second time in my life, I was completely terrified. I only really knew Benn and Emerick. They quickly introduced me to the eAmerican political scene and what was then the relatively exclusive #us, where I was immediately kicked by Franco for saying I did not have sex with Alicia Sacramone...even though the topic said WOULD you. Here I met the guys who became The Party and almost decided to join them because I genuinely enjoyed them and it sounded like a fun plan in theory. In retrospect, I guess it's a good thing I didn't.

My first month here, I Captain Planet roll'd the eRepublik forum and gained the first regional representative seat in Alaska (go MedyPalin--thanks Geno for that immortal name) and held onto it until I decided to give it up four months later. Once I finally settled into congress, my life seemed like a whirlwind. I served in congress being honored as the Best and Most Effective congresswoman during three of my terms; worked on the Constitution with Emerick, Scrab, and NoneSuch; helped Jtree set up the transparent voting system; worked with Kyle to get the ICCCR up and rolling (I think I've done it four or five times now); and I know I did some other stuff, but I really don't remember much. I also started the Sid Carson Fan Club and raided #sex with a group of my bestest late night IRC buddies.

While all of this was going on, I was named Welcoming Committee Director and got it up and running; picked out some pretty great cabinets as Chief of Staff; served as Vice President; improved our relations with the great nation of Finland as an ambassador; served as a Marine; helped AidenAstrup get Meals on Wheels up and running; and started the "Be Yourself" avatar campaign with Jewitt. I mentored some pretty awesome people: One Eye, Jewitt, Richard Brophy. When Franco trashed the forum, I helped set up the new one with KT and scrab, and I helped Joeph set up #usa-chat. On the media side, I pretty much stopped publishing my paper but I began podcasting with Justin. I even got hitched to Justinious while we were serving in the White House, but more importantly, I became Emerick's sister. I ran a lulz campaign for President, and I got on the greatest ticket ever as a VP nomnom: the Failboat, with my Queen Dickie Brophster. But my favorite thing I ever did was serve as United Independents Party President, as they are my eUS family.

A Present to Myself for My Birthday: ADVENTURE!

It's time for me to bust out of this cage and see what the world has to offer: this princess is riding off in her failboat on a world tour. I am ready to have some fun, and I had a hard time deciding what exactly it is I want to do with my eLife. So, thinking back on it, I realized that I was always inspired by NeilP's great World Tour episodes he did back in the day, and I thought I'd take a crack at it. Maybe I'll even fly to the eUK and finally marry my GLaDOS.

In the eUSA, I became somewhat of a cult phenomenon. I've had threads dedicated to my nipples. Countless marriage proposals. I made the eTabloids. I was a model for the old Nationalist Party logo. I have been labeled a Beta Giant and am a founding member of the Mickey Mouse Club. Most recently, I even became an eDeity. But, I've become stagnant in this nation. All of this fabulousness needs to get out and find something to tickle my fancy. Cheap weapons...real war...foreign men... The world has so many things to offer this Princess. But, as I have been out of it and in a foggy haze for so long...I ask you, the people: where's good these days? I really am not up on foreign politics or the state of the world, so tell me friends: where should I go on my adventures? PM me, comment, start a forum thread! Let me know any way that is conventional for you.

Over the next few days, I'll compile the responses and decide on my first destination... Hopefully, it's somewhere saucy.
