Join the new world

My first party presidential term in the Great British Democratic Party is coming to an end. I believe that this term has been a success in many areas, with the main points being our recruitment and party meetings. I know that almost every member has tried to put in effort at some point during the past month, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped out, even with the small things. The party is now growing even stronger and this could not happen unless every member contributes. I have seen several newer players to the party which have already shown their dedication, however the players at the start of the term have not been forgotten as they have stuck with us. Below I have included my comments on certain aspects of the party during my term as party president.

Recruitment
At the start of my term we had 14 members, and were ranked as the 10th biggest party in the eUK. This month has seen The Real Spamicans increase their member count, as well as Guardians of the United Kingdom rise up the become rank 8th. Due to many small parties increasing their member count, it was a struggle for us the get out of 10th during this term. We have reached 9th at some moments in this term however we are still 10th. Our party has grown by 4 members so our new member count is 18 which is an improvement.

During my term we have tried a few tactics to increase our member count, and one has had particular success which I hope that the next party president will continue. Whoever the next party president is, they should be focusing on the area of recruitment as we have potential to grow as a party and have a greater influence on the eUK.

Policies and Party Meetings
We have had 3 party meetings during my term. I believe that all of these have been a success as we have had good turnout from each, we have had fair and honest discussions, and people keep coming back. We have gained a lot from our discussions and without them I believe that the party would not have grown as much as it could have. We have had several people turn out to each meeting and no one has complained to me about a bad meeting, so it appears to be something that everyone enjoys. The next party president would be unwise to not continue the party meetings.

At the start of the term we did have some policies, however some of these were out-of-date. At these meetings I tried to get us to discuss some of the policies of our party, and we have a list now which I will pass onto the next party president. The policy document I wanted to create at the start of the term has not been made but we have started it and the next party president will hopefully continue this.

Enjoyment and Competitions
I was hoping that in this term I would make everyone in the party have a great time in the game. If you exclude the party meetings I have not put a lot of effort into enjoyment. I regret starting earlier, but now I have set up the trivia quiz which could be a success. Travis 99 was appointed to be the Head of Entertainment at the start of the term and he started off well, but now his activity has decreased. I do acknowledge that enjoyment is not the most important part of a political party but it is something that will keep people in the game.

Imperial Guard
Credit goes to jny123 and all those who donated to the party fund so that jny123 could set up a military unit called Imperial Guard. Our party contributed greatly to setting up this military unit I know that many people in GBDP have now joined the Imperial Guard. Personally, I will not be getting too involved in the leadership of the Imperial Guard however I'm sure some of you have keen military minds and would be able to help improve the military unit.

Supplies in the Imperial Guard have started, the military commander jny123 and financial officer Bob Bloggs are looking to gather more funds for improving the supplies in the future. The military unit is still growing and if you want to join in on the advancement you can join the Imperial Guard at any time.

Congress
Will Corbett was elected into Congress after One Vision kindly allowed him to run. This is the first time we have had a Congressman from our own party and is a great achievement. Although Will Corbett did not post many articles about times in Congress, which is disappointing, it is still good to hear he has been getting involved in discussions, or at least watching them. Congress is important for our party as it gives us the chance to make a bigger impact in the eUK, and I hope we have more Congressmen coming to our party.
