[CPF] Elections and other pressing concerns

Day 2,448, 12:29 Published in Canada Canada by Dozzer_x

Salutations and greetings.

When I am not too busy coordinating the PTO of the United Front, I tend to take care of my own party. And there have been a lot of things that have been going on, and there are also a lot of things that need to be written. We in the Canadian Progressive Front are preparing for presidential elections now, and I also have some projects in my mind that we may do in the future.

In this article I'll also address some of the absolutely ridiculous accusations that have been flying around in our national media towards my party. I do have a strong feeling that there are things I did not make perfectly clear when I became, for the third time, a proud president of this body of people that has been for the past years the premier party of Canada.

But first of all, the presidential elections. As is traditional, in the CPF we hold presidential election primaries every month. This way, our nominee is chosen democratically by all interested members, and not arbitrarily by the party leader. For August 2014, the Canadian Progressive Front has chosen Thedillpickl as presidential nominee.

28 votes have been cast in total. 16 of them were for Thedillpickl, 9 for DMV3 and 3 for Quentin Carlson. With more than half of the votes in the primary, it is to me pretty much clear that Thedillpickl enjoys a high degree of confidence within our party. A loyal CPF member, a competent statesman and a good diplomat, I'm sure that he has all the qualities needed for bringing a balanced and positive atmosphere in the Canadian government, as its head. He also reflects our party's philosophy of cooperation, brainstorming and putting individuals before parties or collective groups overall.

I have no doubt that a cabinet led by Thedillpickl will bring a positive atmosphere in our community and will also bring different points of view and different outcomes in the act of governance.

Now, another thing that has come to my attention is a recent campaign by a prominent member of the United Front to belittle the Canadian Progressive Front. A thing like this I would usually ignore, but it has become so ridiculous that it can't anymore. So I must say some few things.

1. If individual members of the CPF go to the UF's newsfeed and troll its members, it doesn't mean the CPF does it. We're a party of individuals, and unlike some socialist dogmas, we believe that the individuals have sovereign will over their actions and there isn't some higher institution ("The Party") to control their existence and actions. It also seems that in-game socialists don't have a sense of humour. It must be a pretty sad life when you can't tell the difference between a serious political take-over and semi-innocent trolling.

2. Accusing the CPF to be a PTO party controlled by the Americans is a pretty depressing thing to do, especially when the CPF has been the premier party of Canada long before the majority of the members of the United Front even knew to spell English correctly and had no intention to take up eCanadian citizenship. Some of our members are RL Americans? Well, I don't see the problem with it. I myself am a RL Romanian. The United Front is the last party to have the right to accuse us of anything, considering the density of low-level Serbs born long ago that hail in their party ranks.

3. Apart from some individual members, the United Front has never been attacked by the Canadian Progressive Front. There has never been an article with the CPF tag (until now) that talked ill of the UF ever since I took the party presidency. I wanted to promote a positive atmosphere and I cooperated in government with UF members, I even supported the idea of creating a Health Ministry controlled by the UF. It's a pretty counter-productive thing to attack the CPF in such an immature way. Socialism was about unity and cooperation. And as a real life Marxist, I must say I'm pretty ashamed by this conduct, which in now way represents true socialism, but it's reminding me more of the actions of the Bolsheviks in Russia. And every Marxist scholar can tell you that those semi-illiterate "politicians" had nothing in common with Marx's ideas, who was a renowned economist, sociologist, historian and political analyst.

I still have hope that the fact that both the CPF and the UF support the same presidential candidate will lead to some sort of reconciliation, but this can only come if the UF wants it. For the time being, the only thing that comes from the UF is the blunt socialist rhetoric. I do hope that one day some of their members will grow up and realise that, for starters, socialism cannot be built in eRepublik, and that they can't do any sort of 'revolution' against the wishes of the majority of the population. Well, it does seem that someone has skipped both eRepublic and Marxism 101 classes.

In other updates, we have been working on the new Tenets. We have recovered the work done by the CPF members some months ago, and I'm currently analysing options to suit those tenets better to today's realities. I also want to say a short thing about the Congress election: I'm a bit disappointed that it's not the result I've wanted, and I must say that it is my responsibility for the not so good result, but we still got the best team out there elected in Congress. Our Congress members are the most informed and rational contributors to discussions both within the Open Doors Congress and the Closed Doors one. And if anyone does not believe me, I recommend you that you go on the forums and see it yourselves.

Best regards,
