[CP] State of the Union (Day 1426)

Day 1,426, 16:52 Published in Canada Canada by Addy Lawrence

MY MANDATE

On October 5th, a majority of eCanadian voters provided me with a mandate to establish eCanada as a destination for experienced soldiers from around the world. I intend to make eCanada a very attractive option to foreign soldiers by:

-pursuing a full complement of economic region bonuses.
-brokering a multi-month commitment from congress on MU funding that requires eCanadian citizenship
-leading reforms in our justice system so that eCanadians can count on a just resolution to conflict

PDP, Muggsy, Ethel, Bunsen HoneyDew and Mafanikio will help me do this!!!

STATE OF THE UNION

Opening Remarks

During Acacia's podcast on Friday night, the Addy "Love-In" was in full bloom. I told them that they jinxed me. I also told them that I expected a scandal and an impeachment attempt before me term was over, it always happens. What a difference 48 hours makes.

On Ethel Rosenberg...

Ethel Rosenberg has been the MVP of my cabinet thus far. I was devastated to learn that her account had been hacked. When I learned of it, I impulsively took some measures to cut her out of the circle of trust. When your account is hacked, can you trust anything they PM you? Anyways, it is becoming apparent that the hack is not as severe as I feared and I have been growing more confident that the hack is behind her (only limited to her eRep account) and that the threats have been managed. This people issue has only made the process issues of the last two days even worse.

On the PTO attempts on CPP, EPIC and UN…

Apparently, South Koreans have been getting Romanian citizenship for some time. With the Romanian citizenship, Romania is an ally to Canada, applicants have been getting into eCanada. Yesterday they launched a PTO attempt of CPP, EPIC and UN. There was a large response to the threat. Everyone did what they could. I have received criticism for not doing more, but I did a series of shouts endorsing the official candidates from CPP, EPIC and UN as well as getting some members of MOO and COI to support the effort. Fortunately, CPP and EPIC were protected, unfortunately, the UN was PTO'd. Our thoughts are with the UN as we look toward the congressional election and keeping these PTO threats out of congress. Collaboration will be required to get the UN out of the top five and to keep PTO candidates from ninja'ing onto the ballot of other parties.

On who the replacement Top Five Party should be…

At present, the sixth place party is MDP and Wally Cleaver is the PP. I like Wally, respect him a lot, but I am in the minority on that one. Complicating the issue is that Norsefire is in fifth right now and their PP, Rolo, is even less popular. All the scenarios here are ugly, but the pragmatic solution is to throw support behind the CanVision Part, led by freshly elected Andrew McKenzie Caine. My Executive Order, for all the weight that it would carry with respect to party politics which isn't a lot, would be for UN members to move to CanVision to bump the UN from the top five. Do the math and you'll find that CanVision needs more members than the UN has to offer. Other parties will have to help to. I will be changing party membership myself.

On potential impeachment…

Max Maher has started the proceedings in ODC, check it out here. Max Maher is a member of UN so he is hostile right now, and Roger Griswald is also banging the impeachment drum. Roger is the same guy who was tipped of a week ago about the PTO threat and didn't share it with anyone until today, but I'm the conspirator. I believe this is an emotionally charged action and that cooler heads will prevail in 24 hours.

On the war with the UK…

A string of losses and the loss of initiative hurts, we are on our heels in Newfoundland. This ebb and flow war is in ebb and I expect us to rally in NFLD or the UK's next attack and push the tide back. The reality is this is no longer a War for Peace with UK but a War of Convenience with UK. The UK has nobody to fight with but us and Ireland. We could fight on the west coast and Asia, something I would really like to do, but the UK will always be pounding on the East Coast. We have a Natural Enemy with UK, let's continue the dance until the environmental factors change.

On the war, and peace talks, with Sweden…

The peeps from Sweden didn't respond to our invitation.

On the eCanadian MU Network…

The network expanded incredibly with admins new missions, this should make eCanada more effective in battles as more people chase that MU incentive of an energy bar and a bazooka.

On reforming the justice system…

This keeps getting pushed to the back burner as other issues flare up.

On the budget…

UC has been called and the budget has been passed, enjoy maximum MU funding while it lasts.

Closing remarks…

Ironcially, I've been waiting for impeachment talk to emerge. Things were going too well and there is usually at least one impeachment attempt each term. This is it, I'm not rattled, let's play it out.

The PTO is scary, preparing for congressionals will be a key priority moving forward.

I will continue to take the blame for the screw-ups because around here I have a very responsible position, every time something goes wrong, I'm responsible!!!

Who's your daddy?
