[CP] First Update (More to Come)

Day 1,667, 16:14 Published in Ireland Ireland by Winston Hope Smith

I am happy to report all ministries are working well. We have had a busy week with all issues been dealt with.

Congress

Congress had 44 members & during my term there was one resignation from Congress namely anteaa.

I have appointed my vCP Beanandteddy as liasion between the Excetive and Congress. This appears to be going well. We were also able (other than at the very start) to give Congress prior notice of upcoming proposals.

With the liaison fulfilling the role previously fulfilled by the Ceann Comhairle I have decided not to ask Congress to elected a CC. However should Congress wish to elected a CC we in the Executive would of course respect it and help in the process.

Congress has a large variety of opinions within it and each is valid as they received their mandate from the citizens of eIreland, My administration will continue to work with Congress to follow a path we feel is most beneficial for our country. However where Congressmen disagree with our ideas I hope we can agree to disagree on that issue and move forward.

Since my Election there has been 12 proposals to Congress as follows

Natural Enemy - Canada Proposed by Pitlja666, Rejected 8-33
Donate to New Ireland Bank Proposed by Sir Arthur William Currie, Approved 33 -2
President Impeachment Proposed by Pitlja666, Rejected 9 - 31
Alliance - China Proposed by Winston Hope Smith, Approved 41 - 1
Natural Enemy - Canada Proposed by MrConwayTwitty, Rejected 11 - 30
Alliance - India Proposed by Octavius Dryst (eIndia CP), Approved 35 - 2
Alliance - France/ Proposed by Winston Hope Smith, Approved 32 - 1
VAT & Import Taxes: Weapons Proposed by MustafaSuphi, Rejected 9 - 33
Donate - New Ireland Bank Proposed by Thanatos the Magnificent, Approved 34 - 4
Peace Proposal - UK Proposed by jamesw (eUK CP), Rejected 14 - 14
Natural Enemy - Canada Proposed by MUFC92, Rejected 10 - 28
Alliance - Portugal Proposed by Winston Hope Smith, Approved 37 - 1

I feel the voting turnout in Congress is excellent and I commend Congress for taking an active interest in the workings of our democracy.

Ministry OF Defence

Minister Kurdt Fradenburg issued his summery of days 1659 - 1666 Here and I hope everyone reads and votes this article

The major changes to the War Module has put an extra workload on the Department and I am delighted to report the MoD team is more than able.
We had a Cabinet meeting on the night of the change and a lot of ideas were put out there. We followed this up the following night with a meeting of MU commanders. I wish to thank these Commanders for their respect and cooperation they showed and the real support they gave to us in trying to come up with solutions to the very real problems this change has raised.

Please expect a more detailed outline on our proposals to the MUs from the MoD shortly.

The Minister and his team are fully up to speed with our collogues and friends in EDEN and we continue to help our allies as and when we can.

As there has been a series threats from our formal Allies Canada, ( see Here and Here and Here)our MoD has had no option but
to ensure our defences would be ready in the event of an attack. This is unfortunate and as my Administration would prefer Canada as partners not foes. We continue to be hopeful in this regard.

Relations with eUK continue to improve. My administration supports the Peace Treaty and is working towards cementing the terms of same.

Our armed forces therefore are directed to the maintaining of Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as supporting our allies. I ask that the UK occupation of Louth and Dublin is not to be opposed.

The Government teams of both nations are now in daily contact and we hope that the conditions are right to ratify a Peace Proposal soon.

The Free Weapons scheme is ongoing with changes been made to ensure greater accountability. This scheme is open to all citizens of eIreland and eIrish MUs and I encourage your use of it. We need all the damage we can get.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Both Minister Ethel Rosinenberg and Joey Millz are working extremely hard and well together. They have already released their first report. Our MMPs are reported to me and proposed in a timely fashion. We are in constant dialogue with our allies. We hope to maintain our MPP level as it is.

While our request of an MPP with Canada was politely rejected (even thought we removed any cost issue) we are still available to the Government of Canada should they wish to change their mind.

The Ministers are in constant contact with their collogues across EDEN and further. We will cooperate fully in all meetings as and when required.

Boot Camp/Ministry of New Citizens

Since the MoNC was merged into the Boot Camp Irasian and his team have worked away making the life of the Baby eIrelander better and making progress easier.

You can read their article Here.

People to help are always required and I ask if you can spend a few hours please contact Irasian.

I would also like to thank MrConwayTwitty for his excellent New Citizens Help Centre. It is initiatives like this that will help us grow in population and strength.

Ministry of Community

The Minsters here have come up with another novel way to make us have fun with their Comic Creation Competition I am really looking forward to the results.

While separate to the ministry some progress has been made on the idea of an eIreland podcast. Fear Malice, Ronisu and myself hope to getting something up and running in a couple of weeks. If you have skills are are interested in helping to get this project up and running please let me know.

Minister of Finance

Sweet Drinker holds, as always, this Ministry in a tight grip but I did manage to get the full list of all the state organisations. 🙂

As prices now have stabilised the Bank has relaunched the weapon subsidy scheme. A branch of the State Bank will be routinely holding offers on the Q6 weapon market @ 30iep. People wishing to sell their Q6 should place their offers between 30iep - 37iep (lowest offers get bought 1st!) Please remember there is no need to attempt competing with the State Subsidy offer by posting below 30iep. However ppl are free to do so if they wish (The Bank will leave such offers on the market for citizens to take advantage of). Due to the nature of game economics, The Minister cannot give an estimate of how long these price levels will be maintained. If these pricelines must be adjusted down, the Minister will announce it.

Global revenue prognosis is poor. The majority of nations are having revenue issues.

Ireland's revenue projections are very positive!
