Join the new world

Hallo Germarkianer,

wie ihr euch sicherlich denken könnt, wurden in den letzten Tagen intensive Gespräche über mögliche Allianzen bzw. unsere zukünftige Stellung in der Weltpolitik geführt. Im Prinzip gab/gibt es drei Optionen:

Da wäre zunächst einmal EDEN. Die größte Allianz, die sicherlich über einiges an Damage verfügt. Doch diese Größe ist zugleich ein Problem, eine gute Organisation ist sehr schwer zu bewerkstelligen, gerade kleinere Länder werden wohl eher keine Unterstützung bekommen, worüber sich Nationen wie die Niederlande oder auch Norwegen kürzlich bereits monierten und mit der aktuellen Situation alles andere als zufrieden sind. Germark könnte wohl als Trial-Mitglied (und nach Abstimmung als Full-Member) beitreten, dies lehnt jedoch sowohl der Kongress als auch meine Person im Moment ab. Obwohl die Zugehörigkeit zu solch einer großen Allianz sicher auch Vorteile hätte und viele, uns freundlich gesinnte Länder, derzeit in EDEN sind, denke ich, dass es unserer derzeitigen Lage nicht wirklich weiterhilft, wenn wir EDEN beitreten. Die guten Beziehungen sollten aufrechterhalten bleiben und unser Kurs ist derzeit ganz klar proEDEN, in diesen Zeiten des Umbruchs ist ein EDEN-Beitritt jedoch, meiner Meinung nach, derzeit nicht förderlich. Hinzu kommt das gute Verhältnis zu Russland, welches ich nicht einfach so aufgeben möchte, sie sind seit langer Zeit ein guter Bündnispartner und haben uns auch in den Schlachten gegen Litauen sehr geholfen.



Kommen wir zur zweiten Alternative, dem Asgard Beitritt. Diese junge Allianz, bestehend aus den zwei Mitgliedern Schweden und Finnland, wurde von uns kürzlich im Krieg gegen ABC unterstützt und wir haben dabei gute Beziehungen aufgebaut. Ihre Stellung ist im Moment eher neutral, ihre Stärke überschaubar. Was ich persönlich an einem Asgard Beitritt gut finde ist die regionale Verbundenheit. Daraus ergeben sich sicherlich einige Vorteile im Kampf gegen naheliegende Feinde. Zudem hat es sich bereits im Krieg gegen ABC gezeigt, dass die Koordination zwischen Schweden, Finnland und Germark durchaus funktionieren kann. In der letzten Woche gab es dazu schon einige Gedankenspiele, die sich nicht auf Asgard beschränkten, sondern sogar noch weiter gingen und eine sogenannte Northalliance in Betracht zogen. Diese Gedankenspiele gipfelten gestern Abend in einem Meeting, die geladenen Nationen waren Schweden, Norwegen, Finnland, Niederlande, Irland, Russland und wir.

Angestoßen wurde das ganze von Norwegen. Sie fühlen sich von EDEN fallen gelassen und sehen ihre aktuelle Situation als sehr ernüchternd an. Die Bevölkerungszahl geht zurück und es gibt kaum relevante Schlachten, das höchste der Gefühle ist dann schon ein Train-War. Deshalb ist der norwegische MoD der Ansicht, dass ein Asgard-Beitritt wieder neuen Schwung ins Land bringen würde. Der Kongress hatte damals jedoch einen solchen Beitritt ausgeschlossen, die Menschen dort fürchten sich, nach Aussage des Verteidigungsministers, vor einem Wechsel und vertrauen lieber auf das Altbewährte. Viele Bürger befürchten, dass Norwegen ein leicht einzunehmendes Ziel sein könnte, wenn es nicht mehr unter dem Schutze EDENs agiert. Der Präsident Norwegens ist ebenso der Meinung, dass ein vereintes Skandinavien eine gute Allianz bilden könnte, er spricht sich für eine mögliche Northalliance aus, allerdings nur, wenn diese solider als jetzt aufgestellt ist, da er ansonsten EDEN als sicherere Alternative für das kleine Norwegen hält.

Der finnische Präsident äußerte sich zu einer möglichen Northalliance ebenfalls positiv. Er sagt, dass er natürlich zunächst die gleichen Sorgen wie Norwegen hatte, nämlich ein leicht einnehmbares Land zu sein, ohne von einer großen Allianz geschützt zu werden, was allerdings bisher noch nicht eingetreten ist und eine Stärkung Asgards eine noch größere Stabilität für die Mitgliedsländer bedeuten würde. Jedoch sollte diese Stärkung wohl bedacht sein und nicht einfach nur darauf abzielen, mehr Mitgliedsländer als zurzeit zu besitzen. Er befürchtet, dass sich die Interessen ansonsten nicht mehr überschneiden und dass es dann um die Langlebigkeit der Allianz nicht allzu gut bestellt sein wird. Der schwedische Präsident pflichtet ihm in allen Punkten bei und betont noch einmal, dass er auf jeden Fall nicht zu viele und zu starke Länder in der möglichen Allianz haben möchte, da er nicht als bloße Marionette im Spiel der großen Nationen mitwirken will.

Die Russen betonen gleich zu Anfang des Meetings, dass sie erst einmal neutral bleiben möchten und im Moment nicht die Dringlichkeit sehen, einer Allianz beizutreten. Sie schätzen die Freundschaft zu Ländern wie Germark und diese wird auch als neutrales Land beibehalten. In der Zukunft ist ein Beitritt möglich, es kommt dabei allerdings auf die Entwicklung der Allianz an. Die Niederlande dagegen fühlen sich derzeit noch EDEN zugehörig, der CP sagt allerdings, dass es seinen Bürgern eher gefällt für Schweden zu kämpfen als in den unzähligen Balkan-Schlachten. Da er es sich aber als Ziel gesetzt hat, niederländische Regionen von den Polen wiederzubekommen, will er erst einmal in EDEN verbleiben, da er sich dort mehr Support erhofft. Auch der irische Präsident ist der Meinung, dass sie erst einmal in EDEN Mitglied bleiben werden, um dort die Sache in den Griff zu bekommen, die Mehrheit der irischen Bevölkerung spricht sich deshalb für einen EDEN-Verbleib aus.

Stellt sich jetzt natürlich die Frage, wie Germark zu dieser Allianz stehen würde. Wie oben angedeutet, finde ich es eine interessante Möglichkeit, allerdings habe ich den anderen Nationen mitgeteilt, dass wir derzeit nicht beitreten werden. Ich denke nicht, dass es im Moment nötig ist, eine schnelle Entscheidung zu treffen, ähnlich wie Russland haben wir gute Beziehungen zu Ländern in aller Welt und wir sind nicht dazu gezwungen, eine sofortige Entscheidung zu treffen. Die Zukunft einer sogenannten Northalliance ist sowieso noch recht ungewiss, zwar könnten sich alle beteiligten Länder einen Beitritt vorstellen, allerdings hängt dies davon ab, ob die meisten anderen Nationen ebenfalls beitreten und dies steht derzeit noch in den Sternen.



Damit wäre nun auch die dritte Option klar: Die Neutralität. Wobei sich das Wort Neutralität so einfach dahin sagt. Natürlich ist unser Kurs weiterhin pro-EDEN und diese Beziehungen sollen auch in der Zukunft aufrechterhalten werden. Dennoch stehen wir momentan ohne Allianz da, was kein Dauerzustand sein muss, wie oben aber schon angedeutet, besteht allerdings auch keine Dringlichkeit. Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle auch noch einmal für die Unterstützung unserer Alliierten, vor allem bei der USA und bei Russland, bedanken. Man hat daran gesehen, dass ein solcher Support auch ohne gemeinsame Allianz möglich ist, dennoch blicke ich gespannt in die Zukunft und beobachte die aktuelle Allianzen-Entwicklung sehr intensiv. Das war´s auch schon wieder mit dem heutigen Allianzupdate, ich hoffe der Text war euch nicht zu lang. 😛

Hello Germarkians,

as you certainly can think, in the last days intensive discussions about possible alliances and our future position in world affairs were conducted. There are basically three options:

There is at first EDEN. The largest alliance that has certainly a lot of damage. However, this size is also a problem, a good organization is very difficult to achieve, especially smaller countries are more likely to get no support, nations like the Netherlands and Norway also criticized this fact recently and with the current situation they are far from satisfied. Germark could probably join as a trial member (and after voting maybe as a full member), but the Congress as well as my person are rejecting this at the moment. Although the membership of such a large alliance would certainly have many advantages, like to stay with our friendly-minded countries in EDEN, I think that it would not really help us in our current situation if we join EDEN. The good relations should be maintained and our course is currently clearly proEDEN, but in my opinion an EDEN-Membership in these times of change is not currently conducive. Moreover, a good relationship with Russia should be maintained, they have been a good ally and helped us in the battles against Lithuania very well.



We come to the second alternative, the Asgard accession. This young alliance, consisting of the two members Sweden and Finland, was recently supported by us in their war against ABC and we have built up good relationships. Their position at the moment is rather neutral, their strength is manageable. What I personally find good about Asgard is the regional solidarity. This results in certainly some advantages in the fight against enemies. Moreover, it has already been shown in the war against ABC that functioning coordination between Sweden, Finland and Germark can certainly work. In the last week there was some thoughts that were not limited to Asgard, but went even further and considered a so-called North Alliance. These thoughts culminated last night in a meeting, the invited countries were Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Ireland, Russia, and Germark.

Encouraged was this whole thing by Norway. They feel like EDEN dropped them and see their current situation as very sobering. The population is declining and there are hardly relevant battles, the greatest feeling is a Train War. Therefore, the Norwegian MoD believes that an Asgard's accession would bring new momentum to the country. But ehe Congress then had excluded the Asgard accession, people are afraid of a change, they believe that EDEN is a safer alliance and they want to rely on well-tried things. Many citizens are concerned that Norway could be an target easily administrable, if it no longer operates under the protection of EDEN. The president of Norway is also of the opinion that a united Scandinavia could form a good alliance, he is in favor of a possible North Alliance, but only if they get stronger then now established, otherwise he thinks that EDEN is a safer alternative for the small Norway .

The Finnish President was reacting to a possible North Alliance also positive. He says that he, of course, initially had the same concerns as Norway, namely to be an easily ingestible country without being protected by a large alliance, which is however not yet occurred to date but a strengthening of Asgard would mean even more stability for the member states. However, this should be considered very carefully and strengthen not aimed just out to have more countries than at present. He feared that the interests otherwise will not overlap and that the alliance will not last so long. The Swedish President agrees with him on all points, and stressed again that he wants to have in any case not too many and not too strong countries in the possible alliance, since he does not want to participate as a mere puppet in the game of the major nations.

The Russians emphasize at the outset of the meeting that they want to remain neutral and only once at the moment do not see the urgency to join an alliance. They appreciate the friendship with countries like Germark and they will be maintaine as a neutral country. In the future an accession is possible, but it depends on the development of the Alliance. The Netherlands, however still feel belonging to EDEN, the CP says, that its citizens enjoy rather fighting for Sweden than fighting in the countless Balkan battles. Since he has the goal to retrieve the Dutch regions of Poland, he wants to remain in Eden because he thinks there will be more support. Even the President of Ireland is of the opinion that they will stay in EDEN for now, in order to get the whole thing under control, the majority of the Irish population is therefore for an EDEN whereabouts.

The question is now, of course, how Germark would stand by this alliance. As indicated above, I think it's an interesting possibility but I have communicated to the other nations, that we are not joining currently. I do not think it is necessary at the moment to make a quick decision, like Russia, we have good relations with countries around the world and we are not forced to take an immediate decision. The future of a so-called North Alliance is anyway still quite uncertain, it depends on whether the majority of other nations also will join and this is currently a matter of conjecture.



So now it is clear that the third option is neutrality. Well the word neutrality is not as simple as you might think. Of course, our course is still pro-EDEN and these relations are to be maintained in the future. Nevertheless, we are currently without an alliance, which must not be permanent, but as already indicated above, however, there is no urgency. I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank our allies for their support, especially USA and Russia. You could see that such support is possible without joint alliance, but I eagerly look to the future and see the current development alliances intense.
