Irishmen & Irishwomen

Today I officially announce my candidature for Presidential office. Its been almost two years I’ve been playing eRepublik and it has been an interesting two years. My earliest memory was the invasion of Northern Ireland for the first time, Edana Savage was our President at the time. Seeing Ireland attacking Northern Ireland made me more interested in this game, the fact that we were fighting for something that means so much to people in Real Life on a silly online game. I must say if that battle never happened I would have probably left this game as another new player who views himself as no use to society.

Those who were there in those days knew how incredible that moment felt, how united on a map, made us united as a community. The game played well, the population was peaked and being Irish was fckn great

But since then our community began to shrink, our numbers of citizens plummeted, our forum activity dropped and our satisfaction with the game play dropped. Things didn’t get better for our society as we were wiped off the map and lost everything, all of our parties and all of our companies. But from the ashes a new Ireland was born, we worked on our community, worked on a united Army and tried to pump as much life into our community. The joy was short lived and we spiralled back into our cliches and the community was divided. You were one or the other.

Recent months we have been living on pure glory. We conquered London, the Irish flag hung high on the British Fortress. We went places we had never been before. Even at present we stormed across the UK and are currently ongoing our occupation of Denmark. Do I feel the pride or the passion? No.

Our community needs reform our media needs revival, our society needs to be United and we need to look at Ireland from a new perspective. We need to have pride in the Tricolour and have pride in our fellow Irishmen no matter who he is.
