Take the fight to the Empire!

Day 2,197, 09:04 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Norfolk

Evening all,

Welcome to essentially the second section of my Colonisation article but not really because it's its own article and it don't need no man! Bored of my idiotic writing style already? Here, have an attractive female, on the house.

Insert witty caption here.

Right, time to jump to it. It's the goddamn Rebellion baby!

This game not only celebrates community, but thrives and practically relies on it at times. Sadly there are times where a community requires a change, much like the Theocrats or Dioists did back in the day. However, few options are left to those seeking a new home, the only reasonable answer being PTO of a small country in the middle of nowhere.

There are many situations where a new home would become a solution better than any other current game mechanics allow. Strife within a large country, divides forming between those of one ideology and another or a pure dissatisfaction with where a country is headed. Sometimes leaving seems like surrender, failure.

But what about a rebirth, what about rising a community from the ashes, what about starting a fresh with a fucking bang? It's time to Rebel.

I know I'm taking my time with this thought but stay with me. What, you want me to carry on writing? Fine, I get it, no need to be a dick.

It's the age of the Rebellion. Across the new world battles are raging. In what was the United States, the East fights tooth and nail with the West. In Asia, the three Chinese states' war spills across the continent. Meanwhile the Brargentinean Super-state continues to ravage Europe.

But how does it work? There are certain requirements that need to be filled. Firstly it needs 1,000 gold to fund the Rebellion. Secondly it needs 10% of the citizen population or 250 players (whichever is lowest) to support the Rebellion. Thirdly it needs to win the ensuing battle, however with one difference, only those with citizenship can fight. When all criteria are met and the battle is won, a new country is formed.

A rebellion is not an event, it's an idea. An idea that can give birth to a new nation, whether it is a small states' bid for independence or the birth of what will become the next empire. Anyway, now seems a good a time as any to throw some Pros and Cons your way.

Pros:
-New dynamic of warfare
-More fluid international landscape
-More depth in countries' internal politics

Cons:
-Escalation of RL tensions.
-Potential of stupidity

For you redhead lovers.

Again, that's all I have, I'll add any others you make me aware of, as you do. Please leave feedback in the comments and I will endeavor to respond and please vote and subscribe to keep up to date on future releases.

Until next time. o/
