Well, in about 30 hours, the last polls will have closed on the Pacific Coast, and we will know whom the citizens of eCanada have elected to lead them over the next 30 days. We have three options before us, along with their platforms:
The incumbent, William Duncan
Challenger, Treian
Challenger, Gaius Julius Caesar00

I myself will be voting for Treian, I thought I would share why I have decided to cast my vote for him. There are several points in his platform that I find quite agreeable.

Economy

His pledge to submit to congress weekly economic conditions and advise Congress on what law proposals should be made in regards to the econmy I find encouraging. To have a hands-on government that is atune to what is going on can only be to our gain. I wonder whether this will prove practical, but the attempt will be made. If nothing else, Treian is open to new ideas and testing them. In addition, his pledge to address import tax issues for the protection of the Canadian economy is another tenent I find favourable.

His view that government loans are ananthema is another plus. History shows us that repayment of these are unenforacble, and that any government help should be strictly grants. Investing in Canadians and Canadian enterprises is important.

His KISS paragraph is particularly encouraging. "The Economic policies of the government will operate exclusively on the KISS (Keep it simple, stupid!) principle. My team will recognize that while erepublik's economic module is inherently complex, the more complex an economic solution is the more difficult it will be to measure with the insufficient measuring tools afforded to us and the more open to abuse the solution will be."

Military

His pledge to always have a training war available, when the real thing is absent, was another key in his platform. Canadian citizens must always have the opportunity to rank up, and game damage experience.

Treian also promises to keep at arm's length from the CAF, measuring them by their results, and NOT their methods. Military men, not civilians, know best on how to accomplish their aims.

Foreign Affairs.

A Treian Government will continue to maintian the highest and strongest ties with EDEN and the USA. However, they will oppose the expansion of either. This makes sense, especially in light of the draconian price of Mutual Protection Pacts. Maintaining Canada's reputation of anti-imperialism will be a priority.

While Treian has other noble and exciting ideas, these are the ones that stick out to me, and encouraged me to cast my vote for him.

My challenge to you is this: Are the points that drew me to him also enough to convince you to vote for him? If not, read all of his platform (link above).

I for one, am convinced that he is the best choice for eCanada.
