NZDF massive recruitment
NZ Ministry of Defence
Hello eNew Zelanders! I believe the most of you are familiar with the recent events in our army, but some explanation could not hurt. The summary would be that NZDF was dismantled and now it is brought to life again, everybody are joining forces to form the new NZDF. Yes, we did not do it on time, but better late then never. We want to unite efforts in this sector also, so after some talks and opinion exchange we understood each other’s ideas and agreed upon setting up new and strong NZDF.
Since it was organised pretty good already, we agreed not to change it a lot. The main subject of consideration was establishing an abuse free system in every sense of the word. That is why we will keep the line organisational structure, as any army should, with an exception of headquarters, aka Defense Council. The chairman of Council and the army leader will still be CoDF, who has commanding powers, yet is limited by the Defense Council. CoDF is elected by Council, can be replaced by Council and his decisions can be vetoed, but only in extreme situations of bad reasoning and abuse which I am sure will never happen. So the real role of Defense Council will be to help the CoDF in achieving and maintaining high organisational level of army, backing him up in everyday work. CoDF, together with Council, takes care of promoting and degrading soldiers, army companies, distribution of funds etc. MOD remains the key figure in setting up daily orders and battle priorities, and deciding on army budget.

*This picture is just a sketch of the structure so that everyone can understand the structure, its not the finall version.
Army will remain apolitical, its officers will be elected amongst the army members. They way up in the command chain would start from soldier, advance to brigade commander, then deputy general and finally brigade general. Since generals together with their deputies and CoDF form the High Council, the new CoDF is elected from the Council and by the Council. Each brigade will be assigned with one organisation, and will have its chat-room. I believe this is a good organisation that covers all the angels but it may be subject to minor changes if something was missed.
I sincerely hope all the previous soldiers will come back and together with new ones form 4 equally strong brigades, with members of all nationalities, so it would encourage getting to know each other and breaking down barriers between people residing in NZ. I also hope that we finish this re-establishment of NZDF asap so that we can start with training in wars, and hopefully some real conquests in near future.
Everyone who wishes to join NZDF should apply here, so that we can form brigades based on average strength and RL time zones:
application
We will together define officers to start with, and in the future a rotation system will be in power. The data will be processed as soon as possible, in the meanwhile I encourage you to share any questions, ideas and thoughts with us via igm or comment, and to come and visit the official NZDF chat room:
#nzarmy on mbbit
One more thing, we are aware there were 2 brigades called New Zealand Army and New Zealand Special Air Service. But now, hopefully, we will have 4 brigades at our disposal so we would like to open a small contest about introducing 2, or maybe the whole 4 new names. We hope there will be creative responses

Agreed with mantle. I would appreciate if this aricle would be heavily edited to change all the errors, etc, and edit the forms as necessary.
However, it's ultimately best if it's deleted. The military should be announcing this, and overall people are annoyed because this makes it look the Ministry of Defense not only runs thing, but even has a say in any of this.
The military is apolitical, that was strictly agreed to. The Military runs EVERYTHING internally. What we want you guys to do is to stop expanding the role of the MoD.
The MoD isn't some 'overseer' it isn't some headquarters, it isn't even there to help the military run enlistment, etc. It's simply there to tell us where to fight at. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less.
It's nice you're trying to be helpful with these little contests, etc, but that, is ultimately up the military. We wouldn't mind if you had consulted the CoDF on this, but the fact is you didn't. The CoDF hasn't even been selected yet by the Defense Council.
This article, really is unofficial in every sense of the word.

@Gaius 😛
"form 4 equally strong brigades"
Not sure if want...
This is all wrong, as Gaius said. Anyone who used that form to sign up won't get a PM, as it's not teh right link. The correct link is in the article that was written in the NZDF newspaper. The structure stated above is wrong. Near enough everything is.
The true facts: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/join-the-nzdf--1606022/1/20
@Gaius Marcus:
"However, it's ultimately best if it's deleted. The military should be announcing this..."
First of all NZDF was dismantled and does not exist at the moment, and even if it existed this is a simple anouncment and explanation of NZDF mechanisms.
"The military is apolitical, that was strictly agreed to. The Military runs EVERYTHING internally. What we want you guys to do is to stop expanding the role of the MoD."
"Army will remain apolitical, its officers will be elected amongst the army members. They way up in the command chain would start from soldier, advance to brigade commander, then deputy general and finally brigade general. Since generals together with their deputies and CoDF form the High Council, the new CoDF is elected from the Council and by the Council." It doesn't get any clearer.
"The MoD isn't some 'overseer' it isn't some headquarters, it isn't even there to help the military run enlistment, etc. It's simply there to tell us where to fight at. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less."
The entire thing is explained perfectly: "...with an exception of headquarters, aka Defense Council" and MOD is mentioned in only one sentence: "MOD remains the key figure in setting up daily orders and battle priorities, and deciding on army budget." And it is bad to help enlistment why again?
"We wouldn't mind if you had consulted the CoDF on this, but the fact is you didn't. The CoDF hasn't even been selected yet by the Defense Council."
We were suposed to consult CoDF who does not exist?
Again, NZDF was dismantled. We agreed upon establishing a new NZDF TOGETHER using the model of the first one. Even dough this government had other plans, we agreed upon setting an apolitical NZDF cause it really makes sense. But when I say establish a new NZDF TOGETHER, it does not mean that everything is started off by the same ppl that once used to run it. Before we are go into this any further, let me remind you that during the previous Council nice amount od gold, NZD and items disappeared or were transferred to US military unit. We did not agree that first the old Council will select a new one (wtf?), that we will use the hub etc... Those details remained unagreed upon, and we do want to set them straight together, but don't want to see you set up some ultimatums all of a sudden, especially when we stated from the start that we plan on using irc instead of hub and even
offered to use both (as one prefers) and try to introduce hub via time to our guys because they simply don't want to use it.
We did agree that we will use the old structure, maybe modify it simply because the increase in numbers. We agreed that we will set up a 50-50 situation in Council (with CoDF a part of the council, just to be clear), a plain and simple situation of having 50% and working and deciding together. Is it so hard?
And finally, I would like to offer a new idea, to set up a rl kiwi as a CoDF, for the greater sake. Hope we will figure out all details and start working soon, bye.
Those thefts were insignificant...
The problem is that they occurred, there was little taken however.
The problem is that you don't want to use the hub, which is what they want to use, and makes much more sense to use. Honestly I'm cautious of ex eSerbs being on the council simply because of what I see here, and on the IRC earlier.
Nothing was accomplished, except arguing, and you ignoring other people's advice.
And The CoDF should be elected, and based not on Nationality, but on experience, and loyalty to New Zealand.
@Darkmantle: Pls first read the comment above this one.
"Anyone who used that form to sign up won't get a PM, as it's not teh right link. The correct link is in the article that was written in the NZDF newspaper."
What are you trying to accomplish with this, compete over recruits? Even when we explained about the hub and offered you access to this gdoc so that we can arrange soldiers in units?
"The structure stated above is wrong. Near enough everything is."
It is clearly stated that its not a final version, and submissive to changes. So I am basically curios what is so wrong with it? We do plan to have CoDF, Defence Council, a few units depending on
numbers of enlisted ppl with their own unit commanders etc... I think there is not one single statement that is not true, and I would like you to prove me wrong.
"The true facts: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/join-the-nzdf--1606022/1/20"
About those facts. Everyone knows we did not enter NZDF organized but at least 20 Serbs went trough NZDF so it was not some sort of boycott directed at NZDF, we did not even know it was apolitical until a few days ago.
"Everyone who helps the Military by working in one of our supply production companies will receive daily supplies enabling them to 5 fights, for free."
As we all know, this is the job of MOD to decide about finance. So you are actually getting involved in someone else's job.
"...with the SAS leading the attack as our highest damage dealers."
This was also not agreed upon yet so we don't know will there be SAS at the moment not what will they be like.
So I could have gone and attacked you about spreading false info too, but it would be silly if we want to work together. Besides all this, I am glad to read some nice and motivational parts of text, good job.
Gentlemen do you even know what apolitical means?
@Balkan Beast: Amount missing is 100g, some NZD and a lot of items, so its not insignificant... And with you being an ex-serb I would be cautious when reading your comments : D
btw, I hope that you are not saying that I myself was arguing and ignoring advices while others were talking calmly?! I believe I was always one of the most calm persons there.
And I explained that I myself don't have anything against the hub, its just that others do since they are mostly experienced soldiers which are using the irc for a 1-2 years now and never had problems. I don't have prejudices about hub and I offered to try and introduce it by time, but I have never set the irc as my ultimatum.
I felt the urge to say all this and it ruining the article so sorry everyone.

Dadoh ti ga i ja. VOTE!
where's SK corp? 🙁
voted.
Just go:
CP, MoD, (Maybe CoDF) Unit leaders, Squad leaders.
I think maybe we should forget all the other role playing stuff and keep it simple.
The CP and MoD decide policy (taking advice from whomever they like). The CoDF figures out how to achieve the objective. (again, taking advice from whomever they like), then yells his orders at the Unit leaders, who in turn scream them at Squad leaders and those poor bastards try to explain them to Soldiers🙁 Chuck in a Quatermaster or two, or whatever it takes till u have round the clock supply and job done🙂
I think IRC is best too. At an SAS level it is essential and at regular army level it really helps u meet heaps of cool people, this helps keep more people in the army🙂
Carl has the right ideas.
Also I am 100% opposed to using mibbit as the IRC server. Using mibbit means that you can only connect to the room using the mibbit client. Mibbit can connect to other servers, but other clients cannot connect to the Mibbit rooms properly. Host it on Rizon if possible (to match the eNZ room) or really anywhere but Mibbit.
You're totally wrong, you can connect to irc.mibbit.com just like to any other irc network.
I'm on both mibbit and rizon via adium x and have no problems with it.
vote grok grok
IRC will be used for everyone, but so will the hub. The hub is fully dynamic, with a press of a few buttons it will sort people into units AUTOMATICALLY, saving time having to sit and do it manually with GDOCs, or adding scripts into GDOCs to do it. It's there, it works, it is ready to use.
The DC already voted me back in as CoDF Kurojca, no matter what Loader votes. I have 3/4 votes, his vote wouldn't overrule it. And as CoDF, the old structure will be staying the same as it is fine with the current numbers. The hub will also be used to make our lives a lot simpler.
If people are that bothered about logging into a website once a day for activity purposes and to get orders, then it's not my problem. It doesn't take much effort, and it's more secure than posting orders on IRC. And creating a bot that will check activity as well as do orders will take a while, why should we do that when we have a hub already?
