Isn't it about time we invaded Africa?

Day 2,195, 10:19 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Norfolk

Evening all,

I'm going to get started on a mini project of my own to write up what I would call a perfect game, this will be personal preference, so each to their own I guess. For your viewing pleasure there will be eye candy littered around these articles so keep your eyes peeled.

Let's dive in.

Seeing as the military module is one of the biggest draws of eRep, I'll start here. I've already released an article describing what I would see as an ideal battle module here so feel free to have a look. Now, onto the topic tonight.

Colonisation.

We have giant swathes of the eRepublik map coloured in gray, an eyesore and often an annoyance for those who boarder one or more of these regions. They limit the options for many countries, such as Egypt, whose current occupation may even be due to this problem. All in all, it limits the game from being as immersive as it could be, imagine Africa with a military scene similar to that of Europe.

Some Amanda Seyfried for your viewing pleasure

So what can be done? We can't exactly create a few hundred countries in one fell swoop can we. Or can we? ... No, it would very definitely result in disaster and for little benefit. So what else could be done? How about this.

How about we open the option of attacking these regions, let existing countries fight over them. Of course there must be a large wall to overcome to keep colonisation slow paced as to not over balance the game. It's a pretty simple change but could have large ramifications for the game at large, here are a few.

Let's have some Pros:
-Extra strategic options
-Less land strain in high population areas
-Less threats to small countries
-Brings together influential empires
-Refreshing change to the global environment

And how about some Cons:
-Benefits powerful nations
-Messy warzones
-Devalue region bonuses

Mhmmmmmm, yeah .... wait .. what? Oh yeah the article.

That's all I can think of right now, yes the idea has its flaws but generally speaking, its benefits far outweigh any negatives. Of course that's assuming I didn't miss any glaring problems. Please leave feedback in the comments and I will Endeavour to respond.

There will be a companion to this article following in the coming days, please vote and subscribe to keep up to date on future releases.

See you next time!
