Finnish Downfall

Day 858, 00:00 Published in Finland Latvia by Vidvuds Riikste

I remember once reading Machiavelli’s sentence „Wars begin when you will but they do not end when you please.”

Doesn’t it sound oh so true for Finland?

The North of Europe has seen it’s fair share of fighting before (with no side being the 'good' one), but with that last brazen attack on Russia you Finns just went over the top, and now you’re going down. Of course you propagandized your assault as expansion of Lebensraum and clash for resources, but we are not blind nor stupid, and we can see the movements in Asia, probably the true reason of this silly adventure.

I suppose none of your statesmen were so delusional as to expect a victory over so many MPPs, so what was so tempting in the offer from EDEN HQ that you happily jumped under the steamroller? Or maybe you were feeling a bit masohistic at that moment? Seriously, I would like to know, because the business-as-usual ‘you gain some, then we take it back’ seems to be out of question here. Now you’re down to your last territory, and if Russians will it, you’ll be wiped out, and so will be the better part of your ability to distract Phoenix forces away from the Iron mines. A crushing defeat - for now.

Now, what really motivated me to be a bit harsh was this masterpiece of yours: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/finland-offers-an-immediate-surrender--1272315/1/20

Sounds a bit like if Adolf demanded surrender of Russians while standing amidst the ruins of Berlin, doesn’t it? Especially considering that your allies aren’t really rushing to your aid in the last stand, for an example, in the American DOD orders your battle for the last hospital was clearly prioritized as a third priority affair.

A quick update: so you decided to retreat and now are effectively conquered. Hope you know what you're doing...
