[CP] The Week in Ireland

Day 4,111, 09:21 Published in Ireland Ireland by Aras an Uachtarain

Mo Chairde,

I have quite a lengthy update for you all which I’m also going to combine with other issues related to eIreland. This will be somewhat a synopsis of everything that is going on as well as all of the different projects made available to you as a citizen. As a Presidential candidate, I pledged for this month to be all about building our community, making it cohesive and active. While this has yet to be fully achieved due to unexpected military events, I believe now is as good a time to finally begin work in truly developing our community. So without further ado, lets have a look all things eIreland this week.

[The Bulgarian Problem]

On Day 4,104 at 00:03, eBulgaria declared war on eIreland. This move was entirely unexpected and came as quite a shock. Examining the map, we learnt that Bulgaria had no border with Mayo and that we had a chance to stem their attack and reduce the scale of their inevitable occupation. Breaking our Training War arrangement with Russia, we fought to keep Louth in Russian hands, this forcing them to make their next attack to the south to Wexford which would give Russia three Irish regions out of six. Furthermore, we had hoped that we would be able to use Russia to attack Shannon in a timely manner forcing Bulgaria into only occupying Cork due to the formation of a Russian wall. Unfortunately, Russia were unwilling to cooperate and delayed their next attack, only to queue a battle for Cork post Bulgaria’s auto-attack on Cork. Fortunately, Russian auto attack kicked in after this battle and they were forced to attack Shannon. Our soldiers fought for Russia and successfully closed the war with Bulgaria due to there no longer being a border. Our strategy worked with plenty of luck.

We currently find ourselves with Bulgaria still occupying Cork. Much to our disappointment, they defended our Resistance War and have clearly shown interest in remaining in the region. In exploring all options, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rainy Sunday and I have entered into official discussions with the Bulgarian government. We have offered them assurance that Ireland will no longer interfere in their Training Wars with our (Air)Strikes. I am proud to say that our congress overwhelmingly support this Governments offer and mirror our stance of giving nothing more. We are now waiting for the verdict from Bulgarian congress.

[Russian Expulsion]

As a result of the Bulgarian Invasion, we have felt no other choice but to expel Russia after months of a successful Training War arrangement. While we understand Russia were caught in the middle of a rock and a hard place over this whole issue, their inability to cooperate with us in our defence has highlight a weakness and flaw in our defence strategy as a whole. Russia were also put into a similar position during the Romanian invasion. After our nation facing two such incidents, we really feel that this Training War was evidently a liability. In addition, the Russian move to queue a battle for Cork as opposed to attacking Shannon suggested a level of cooperation with Bulgaria. I wish to stress we maintain good relations with Russia who were honest in repaying all Irish taxes throughout this ordeal. Additionally, we have offered Russia our support should their allies Bulgaria or Serbia choose to meddle in their business without consultation. Russia, thank you for the months of our Training War and we wish you all the best with your “allies”.

[The Belgian Collapse]

With our attention entirely shifted to the ongoing battles with Bulgaria and Russia in our cores, our soldiers were unable to pay attention to our Training War abroad in Belgium. Coupled with negligence on my behalf, this Training War came to an unintended halt. We as a nation would like to thank Belgium for this opportunity and also to apologise for our failure in maintaining the agreement.

[The USA Adventure]

At the request of the Government of the United States of America, on Day 4,097, we voted to Airstrike Argentina in their American regions. Upon landing we declared the USA our Natural Enemy. From this point we have been actively engaged in a Training War which see’s Ireland win the direct battles and the United States win the Resistance Wars. This engagement is taking place across the states of Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. We advise all citizens to not support any Resistance Wars in the United States unless they observe orders from US Government officials.

[France and Resource Concessions]

Over the past week we’ve renewed our Resource Concession Agreement with France. Under this agreement we rent them our Deer while they rent us Cattle, Fruit and Fish. This Agreement is highly beneficial for both countries as it see’s us both receive an increase in production while also providing Ireland with an additional source of income.

Due to the Bulgarian occupation of Cork, France have been unable to benefit from their Deer bonus. We hope that Bulgaria will come to their senses and stop this unjust sabotage of Ireland and their ally France’s Agreement.

[Quality Articles]

Just before my term, I pledged a 100,000cc sponsorship of good quality articles. For every good quality article published in the Irish media, the writer in question would receive 2,500cc.
