They hung out the Flag of War!

Day 4,110, 06:58 Published in Ireland Serbia by Don Croata.

Hello Eire!

Firstly, I’d like to apologise for not writing the ‘End of term’ Presidential update until now. I’ve been delaying it day after day and eventually it got too late. Now when few more things happened I can simply add a paragraph about what has been done during ‘my’ term in January and start of this month. We’ve had a great month and I’d like to thank all of those who did their contribution to all the successes we had in recent times. Today, situation isn’t as good as it was, but we’ll surely put all of our efforts together to make it good once again.

Look in the mirror

My main idea was to include as many people as possible in decision making process. This is exactly why my term started with a National Summit where we discussed loads of important stuff. I wanted to see how the citizens of Republic feel about few important issues which were ahead of us. We’ve been discussing alliances, internal organization and few other things. It gave the Government a direction to go. It’s extremely important to keep involving all the people that wants to be involved into decision making process. If we’re not all informed and motivated to work towards the same goals then there’s not much point pushing for those goals.

Among many goals we've had during the January the most important ones were to support good things and useful projects. I’ve proposed a monthly budget of 400 000 IEP to support aimeisan’s Air Project which turned out to be the most useful thing Ireland has seen probably in its whole history. When our incomes get bigger, when we attract more citizens and gain more profits I’d love to see Air Project to receive even bigger support. The other proposed budget that was approved by Congress was Irish Army funding with a decent budget of 200 000 IEP.

Combining these two budgets means a lot for both projects/groups that are taking care of many Irish citizens and it represent returning the money gathered by the citizens back to the citizens. Taking our taxes into consideration, which are on its minimum rate this is a huge thing and it proves that our Republic is here for its citizens. Our people, citizens of this great country are what makes this place best in the world.

When it comes to finances and economy we’ve renewed concession with France, remained lowest possible taxes and started several projects within the Ministry of Finances. The most significant one is Buy Irish project which is actively going on with the budget of 400 000 IEP. Financial report have been published on a day 4083 and you can expect another one in the coming days. One of the things that haven’t been started yet is Bank of Ireland. Situation in the markets is changing to the better, so you may expect this great project to be restarted again this week.

We’ve also seen the opening of Ireland-Belgium Training War which got closed in February after we’ve become too busy defending against Bulgarians. Luckily, we’ve also been talking to Italians about another TW which came in handy after closing the Belgium one. However, Bulgarian threat isn’t over yet and nowadays our whole focus is turned onto them.

Bulgarian invasion

This month we’ve seen Bulgarians coming for our original regions. Russians decided not to cut the borders which made our TW with them fairly useless considering it would only be a drain for us to fight in those battles. We’ve asked them to leave and it seems now they will do that. Bulgaria has occupied Cork, our resource concession region so they are directly hurting France too.

Our story with Bulgaria is very long and while our relations have been switching from perfect to terrible in a short time. As you probably know Bulgaria was our great ally during EDEN and Aurora time. We did several Airstrikes for them, we supported every move they made. They’ve been there for us too, each time we asked for their help. However, global aspects changed that. Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia have been ‘in the middle’ between antiAsteria and proAsteria for a long time. They fought against Asteria, but Anti Asteria never decided to fully trust them, we were advocating for them, we wanted Bulgaria and NMKD to stay on our side. We holded firm ground when it came to those two countries and we were always loyal to them. It happened more than few times that we get into argues with the rest of our allies because of those two.

Nothing could change the opinion of our current allies and after few months Bulgaria and NMKD has decided to join Asterian side. It made our side much weaker, it costed us two great friends and it made our enemies stronger. We never blamed Bulgaria and NMKD for doing the shift, but we didn’t want to follow. We couldn’t imagine ourselves on the other side at that moment. That’s when the troubles started. During the next month we’ve got into few disagreements, Bulgarian Government was filled with new faces we didn’t know, or liked. They didn’t like the fact Ireland has stayed on the other side and soon after their first invasion on Ireland has started. I have to say that the first time they did it my heart was broken. Many bad words have been said to each others back then and it was a turning point after nothing could be the same anymore. Since that moment we’re not in a good relations, we’re probably the country they hate more than others. It’s always like that when friends become foes.

We felt betrayed, they felt betrayed. I still feel that it’s us who actually got betrayed, we surely wouldn’t make the moves they made. However, I understand their hatred towards us as well and looking at how things turned out to be it would maybe be better for us if we followed them. Would it feel right? I don’t think so, this way we kept our pride, our loyalty and sovereignty.

They hung out the flag of war

We are currently having Bulgaria in Cork, our production region. However, since our war have been stopped by cutting the border with Bulgaria our producers still can work in the companies with decent bonuses. We’re expecting Bulgaria to launch another declaration of war or natural enemy against us to take more of our regions though. We’re preparing our defence and we have high hopes that our allies will be there for us. It’s been a while since we’ve been provided with a significant support by our friends. We have to understand that everyone are busy with their own issues. Being a weaker side has many bad consequences and mutual support is one of those. It’s hard to support your ally if you’re in the middle of war trying to save your own country.

Regardless, our expectations are big, we’re working in the background to get our allies over here and I’m 100% sure we’ve deserved all the help they can provide. It’s been Ireland who stood with its friends for many months, years, almost a decade. We’ve never asked for too much in return and we always gave our best to help. Once we were making airstrikes for our allies often, more often than any other country. Now, when our main strength is airforce and there’s not much point to do airstrikes anymore we’re organizing coordinated strikes for our allies several times a week. Engaging directly wouldn’t mean too much, since we’re fairly week in ground, we have serious lack of Legends and we can contribute much more in air rounds.

We’ll fight united, we’ll fight every day and we’ll make the cost of occupation much bigger than gains of it. I’m very happy to see several Irish citizens offering great support to this cause. It’s a much bigger pleasure for us to defend our own country than for our opponents to occupy a small country such as Ireland. They can fake their smiles, but we’ll show them what the laughter is eventually.

Future will always be bright

Ireland is a very special country. We have many great projects ongoing for some time now. Those projects are defining us as a country. Everything we do and make has consequences, its good and bad sides. We’ve invested so much effort into making ourselves strong in air rounds that we almost completely ignored the ground fights. I’m not saying that’s a wrong thing to do, on the contrary it’s always good to specialize yourself in something. I’m merely showing how decisions can affect things. We need to be aware of our strengths and weaknesses. We’ll rely on our allies more than ever, but our allies will profit from Ireland more than it was ever possible. We are fighting every 4th round, but when we do that it’s mostly a victory for our side. We moved to Top 20 in air damage, but in the same time we dropped a lot on ground damage rankings. It makes us strong, but it makes us vulnerable too. We will have a hard times defending ourselves directly, we won’t be able to help much by joining wars directly.

I’m happy with how our internal communication became much closer and many people that didn’t contribute that much in the past has started to contribute nowadays. Also, there are significant number of new Irish citizens that are giving their best for this country. We’ve accepted many new citizens and most of them returned the favour simply by becoming an active part of our community. We need to keep getting people in here, keep our good projects going and create a stable climate for discussions, become the most inclusive country of the world and offer the most important thing in this game to the people - fun.

Next several weeks will be crucial to Ireland. We’ll be making many HUGE decisions and we’ll be creating our own future. We’ll see how things are going to turn out with Bulgaria, but one thing is sure we’ll be watching them. Every time they make a move we’ll be there, every time they hope no one is watching we’ll be watching. Whenever they seek for help in their battles we’ll make sure they need even more help. There’s no stepping back from this position and it’s up to us to prove that David can beat a Goliath. It’s a guerilla time, it’s time for the masks, small group striking fast and surprising the opponents. We’re gonna make sure they regret joining this part of the world, our small island.
