Why I'm Resigning.
Legendardisch
I would like to share some news with you.
Tomorrow on the 6th of November, I will resign as the Chairman of Congress. I know that some people may be slightly upset about this decision, especially after the number of promises I made. The decision didn't come lightly, but what it boils down to, is simply time.
I have noticed that it's getting harder to spend time in eRepublik, and thus my duties as CoC, while also writing a novel (see the last post) Therefore, to spare the community from my inactivity, I have decided to step down.
Now you may think, but it's just a novel, but to me, this is more than just a novel. I have been trying to write one for over two years now, sadly, two years ago I was hit by depression and a severe burn-out, Everything I tried, it just didn't work. I tried last year, it just didn't pan out. However, now that I feel better, thanks to the help I got, I decided, on the last minute, to write this novel. It's part of my healing process, it's part of me trying to close off that chapter of my life.
It's also a symbolic resignation, as we all know the current Constitution makes it so that laws do not work retroactively (and they never should) While the new lawbook may have extended my term, I feel that it is good, for the sake of transition, to step down, though remind yourself, it isn't the primary reason, that still remains the issue of time.
Now I don't know who my successor will be, but whoever it may be, I do hope that they will continue to uphold the expectations I set for the office of CoC: Inform the Public, Serve Congress, and continue the experiment.
Put your name on the ballot
Legendardisch.
Chairman of Congress.

You've done a great job. Good luck with your novel!

Maybe an idea to assist the new CoC as dCoC? That way you can continue realising your vision with the new CoC and assist him when you have time? Or maybe return as CoC when you feel like it. ps. New CoC should of course have his own view we can't be the same person but i believe the plans/responsibilities for CoC as described by Legendardisch where very nice.
Good luck writing your novel! Maybe we can read a preview some day like 1 or 2 pages 🙂
I believe it would be weird if your term would have lasted more than a month, while you were elected as interim CoC to finish the October term. I realize that this is due to the changes in the lawbook, but as a result I don't think you need to apologize for your resignation. You signed on for a term of around 10 days, and while you were at it, congress moved the end date...
I understand that writing can take up a lot of time, and I wish you the best of luck in your "quest". It might be best to simply two-click for a while, while making a lot of progress with your novel.

You've been one of the better CoC's that I got to know. I hope your novel works out. Much respect to you, sir!
