Why I'm Resigning.

Greetings eNetherlands
I would like to share some news with you.

Tomorrow on the 6th of November, I will resign as the Chairman of Congress. I know that some people may be slightly upset about this decision, especially after the number of promises I made. The decision didn't come lightly, but what it boils down to, is simply time.

I have noticed that it's getting harder to spend time in eRepublik, and thus my duties as CoC, while also writing a novel (see the last post) Therefore, to spare the community from my inactivity, I have decided to step down.

Now you may think, but it's just a novel, but to me, this is more than just a novel. I have been trying to write one for over two years now, sadly, two years ago I was hit by depression and a severe burn-out, Everything I tried, it just didn't work. I tried last year, it just didn't pan out. However, now that I feel better, thanks to the help I got, I decided, on the last minute, to write this novel. It's part of my healing process, it's part of me trying to close off that chapter of my life.

It's also a symbolic resignation, as we all know the current Constitution makes it so that laws do not work retroactively (and they never should) While the new lawbook may have extended my term, I feel that it is good, for the sake of transition, to step down, though remind yourself, it isn't the primary reason, that still remains the issue of time.

Now I don't know who my successor will be, but whoever it may be, I do hope that they will continue to uphold the expectations I set for the office of CoC: Inform the Public, Serve Congress, and continue the experiment.

Put your name on the ballot

Legendardisch.
Chairman of Congress.
