To anyone who has joined this game in the last couple of months, I want to say: Welcome!

I'm genuinely curious to who you are. Please, post a comment here if you're new and feel free to send me a friend request. (If you're old, you can do the same of course)

I know you're probably good at figuring out this game already, but here's some tips and resources for the new people:

Don't be afraid to ask for help

This game can be rough on new people. You don't earn as much as people who have been around longer and the rules and strategies aren't obvious or easy to figure out.

The majority of big-name citizens in this country would be more than happy to give you advice, don't be afraid to message them (myself included). Also, the government has multiple programs to help new people out with free stuff, fill this form out.

This is a social strategy game.

In terms of actual things to do and buttons to push, this game doesn't provide a whole lot. Most of the active people in this game get their enjoyment from interacting with others, either in the media, forums or IRC.

Forums: The USA has its own forums, check them out: http://eusaforums.com
These are new, replacing our old ones, and do recommend them. Lots of serious and not-so-serious discussion about the game and real life happen here. Thank PigInZen for getting the forums up.

IRC: Lots of people hang out and chat on IRC, every party and military branch also has its own room. We're on the Rizon server, easy ways to get there are chat.mibbit.com and rizon.net
Official rooms our country operates are #tc and #usa-chat

Military/Militias: I've written about this before, but joining an organized fighting force like the military or a militia not only helps your country, it helps you too. Also, many citizens say that their military branch or militia is what keeps them playing this game, it's what makes the game fun.

Media: I highly recommended reading the media on a regular basis. Find newspapers that are entertaining or informative and subscribe to them. This helps you know what's going on in this country and the world.

Newspapers every new player should be subscribed to:
DoD Orders, the official newspaper by our military to tell citizens where they should fight.
The WH Briefing Room, for updates on what's going on in the government
The Angry Kitten, President Josh Frost's newspaper
The Stench of the Pigpen, VP PigInZen's newspaper
Education Today, by the Department of Education, often gives great tips and advice
eUS Interior Department
USA Welcoming Committee

Thanks for reading, and like I said, if you're new, please comment, I want to meet you.

UPDATE: A couple of links to add include Arm America and the UIP Academy.
