With a heavy heart I watch as our party is taken over. Should have known with the influx of multis in the last while. Tomorrow will likely see another chapter of Norsefire created. For what purpose, I don't know. I really don't care to know.
Months ago, I wrote of the political trouble that infects this country. With some disregard to democracy, I forged ahead. With the political link of CPP and CSD Military Unit, I had hoped to build a larger and stronger force. One that was able to withstand the manipulations of a true sociopath and his followers. To some degree, it looked like it was working. We grew quickly, but with a cost. We lost a lot of good people and became a target.
I honestly thought I could protect you from this. I was wrong. For that I am deeply sorry.
I do still believe in eCanada, there are a great many good people here. We will prevail. Moreover, we will all find common political ground.
That is the one good thing that this type of adversity will teach us!
To all the CPP members that voted for me today, I thank you. To all those that tried so hard to stop this, I thank you.
I will quit this party as soon as I see it's officially taken over. I would encourage everyone in the CPP to do the same, it's not coming back anytime soon. There has been talk of starting a new party and migrating. I won't be. Gonna head over to EPIC, hope you all join me. 🙂

Are you really that delusional, Ralph? CPP has always been a home to huge amounts of multis. Perhaps you've forgotten the reputation that CPP used to have (before it became the Canadian Puppet Party.) It's not fair to put all the blame on yourself, I truly liked your ideas in your last article, "Towards Unity". But, instead of doing something then, you let Ethel further destroy the party.
Sure, everyone can hate on me, it's all good, it's what I look for in commenting. That said, I remember having conversations back in May of last year about how CPP needed to die and start something new. Conversations that included a certain CPP founder even.
Final thought: If CPP was so important to you, why didn't you at least write an article about wanting to win PP. Not that that may have helped your chances, but the lack of an article further led to the belief that there was no one at the helm of CPP that cared.
Everyone can blame this on Rolo and me, but the real blame needs to be put on all of eCanada. The fact that people only care after the fact is pretty sad. And don't go thinking that EPIC will be a stronghold. EPIC hasn't stood for anything in the year I've played, probably never stood for anything at all.

...lies and slander! At the time EPIC was founded (by myself and Ozymandias Malifozik) there was a lot of political filibustering and verbal attacks. Part of the reason I put so much effort into EPIC was to provide a place where ANY opinion was considered, and debated rationally, rather than devolving into personal attacks. It was a party devoted to friendship and community rather than ideology, as it was shown how divisive it can be, even in a browser game.
...but this was a year before you started playing. Can't blame you for making misleading generalities though. It must be something in the air...

I certainly feel your pain, it is yet another sad day for eCanada. All are welcome to use EPIC as a refuge or stay-over in the hopes of rebuilding the parties decimated or destroyed by foolish boredom and immaturity.

Hell SWAC is back in CAF high command and he didnt even get illegally impeached, just plain stole money and leaked CDC crap.
Not saying stealing the treasury was right, of course it wasnt, but eCanada's government was not blameless...did AMM even get a forum ban for starting an illegal impeachment starting us on the road we find ourselves on now.
Time to call a truce, wipe the slate clean and start over....if thats even in the cards now.

Don't spend too much time blaming yourself...you and I both know your time is better spent on find solutions instead of searching for what could have been.

With 0 planning Rolo was able to take the top party in eCanada with ~150 votes.
That makes every party a viable target. If you don't want to be next you need to enliven your membership, get the 2clickers more active, and actually start paying attention.
These parties that nominate and elect Congressmen that never show up, or don't even bother to abstain on votes to let them meet quorum are gonna have to start changing the way they do business.
Make people earn their spots on the Congress ballots, don't just give them out.
Make eCanada better, by making your parties better.

Norsefire did have positive connotations once upon a time, just so you know, Jax.
I find it interesting to note that several Canadians apparently believe that a rape victim is the blame for their rape. This notion of blaming Canadians for not preventing it, makes them at fault a fallacy. The victim, in this Canada and the CPP is not to blame, Rolo and his ilk are. Canadians failed to protect themselves, that does not in any way make them responsible for the situation.
