Interview with Mr.Crumpets

Day 1,908, 15:36 Published in Australia Uruguay by Nicky3Fingers
1.you had a really good run in this election and just barely lost, do you have an idea why? And if you had DeLorean what would you go back and change?

Why did I lose? I started my campaign too late. By the time I started Tim had KHMC endorsement in the bag. That brings him at least 70 votes.
If I had more time, I might have been able to lock in the ANP's endorsement which might have got me over the line.

Still, when you look at at, Tim polled LESS than the total membership of the parties endorsing him, while I polled MORE than then total membership of the parties endorsing me. It seem I won the swing/uncommitted vote.

2.Do you plan on running again next month or in the near future if at all?

I've made a post in the GGP forums tonight declaring I will run again in March.

Starting the campaign early this time will allow me to highlight what Tim is doing and what my solution would be. Of course there will be trolls that will attack an idea because they don't have an open mind, but I hope I'll be able to win over more voters by guiding them through my thinking step by step.

3.Do you believe that Tim_Holtz has the ability to turn things around? At least as much as the current situation allows?

No. The fact is whatever 'Terms of Surrender' puts on the table, it will never stick. There are a few basic reasons. 1) Whenever Indonesia get bored and need some fun (or a babyboom) they attack us. No agreement will ever save us from that. 2) Chile have had the taste of power and power corrupts. Whenever they need an ego boost, they'll attack us. 3) There is no 'cop' around to enforce the agreement. We thought we had one with the USA, but it turn out they don't want that role. With no Cop, whose gonna punish Indonesia or Chile when they break the 'Terms of Surrender'?

4. Do you have any advice or something that you would like to see Tim do?

Tim has to learn the lessons of the Greg MacGregor Government he was in. He must outlay the ideas he has for this 'Terms of Surrender' and when he hopes to have it signed off by. The longer he takes to do this, the tougher it will be for him to get it past the senate.

Plus if there isn't a deal done by the 22nd and Australia has lost (or is looking like losing) it's territories, senate might get nervous and hit the impeachment button.

5. Do you have anything else to tell myself or the people of eAustralia

Yes, I'd like to give a big thank you to eAustralia for allowing me to run and a big thank you to those who voted for me. The close race gives me heart that almost half the nation believes in my views on Foreign Affairs, that we must explore and find new friends and rethink our game strategy.

I hope that in the next month I can convince that remaining 1-2% of voters that I offer something new and our country will return to the good times we had in early 2010 when we had new friends and we stood up to the bullies.

Sit tight eAustralia. We'll survive this month of pain, then we'll face a new world and new approach to eRepublik.
